BTW Bob are you still SOB?
Thanks Pawatt for the heads up on Progresso.

why don't you start a closed sticky for the RGV with just links to the things you have posted this year about activities in the RGV? This would allow newbies each year to just browse the sticky and find all that is available and by being closed, it would allow you to control what is posted in the sticky.
Bob
Hi Bob, I have thought of that, I could edit out the posts that were not relevant and keep only posts regarding Activities, Attractions & Dining in the Rio Grand Valley. Will check & see what Admin thinks sometime this summer. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ron and Bob,
That is a GREAT idea. Also, some time back I posted the weather statistics for snowbird areas during the winter months. These are average temps, not current temps. This may also qualify for a sticky as many people want to know what to expect in CA, AZ, TX and FL.

Shirley No, we're in Nevada at the family ranch for another couple of days and then moving to the Bay area for a wedding. Have appointments in OR starting the 2nd week of April for some major renovations to the interior of our MH and then on to western ID the end of April, for the summer.

We have a general guideline that there should be no more than 3 Sticky's per forum so the ones that are useful to the greatest number of people will have priority.
This safety Sticky will have priority:
Sticky: Snowbird Alert: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fires
This one is usefull to snowbirds in all areas:
Winterizing for Snowbirds

The three sticky guideline makes little sense. You mean if there are four safety issues someone has to choose what is to be removed?
It also sounds like the Winterization and Refer Recall should be in different areas. To me winterization should go in the "newbie" area and the refer recall should be under technical stuff.
Almost every web site I go to has a listing of FAQ's. Usually these frequently asked questions number more than three......... perhaps stickys could be changed to FAQ's. Or, one of the stickys could be listed as FAQ's which could contain a number of different items.
All of this is just trying to cut down on the same 10 questions being asked over and over. How many times will you have to tell people how many RV Parks are in the RGV..... or what the RGV stands for?

Re a Sticky for the RGV.
The Snowbird forum includes much more than the RGV and in fairness to all other snowbird areas & snowbird topics we will likely not have a Sticky for only the RGV.
Now I better get back on topic or I will have to delete my own post.

Ron, I hear what you are saying, but I just went to 3 forums and one had 5 stickys, one had 4 stickys, and the third had the "suggested" 3 stickys. I still think that Admin would see the value of a sticky for the RVG by just looking at the traffic this one post has generated since its conception. Of course, this is JMHO.
