When in Port Isabel, don't forget to stop at Manuel's for the best breakfast burrito you have ever had. Don't forget to get it covered with enchalada sauce. The lunches are also great....

Hey Shirley how about telling us the name of the great hairdresser you found, I am sure we all (ok if not all at least me) are interested in finding one that comes recommended. Finding a good hairdresser has always come before a good restaurant. LOL

Thanks Becky

Becky,
where are you and Ed going to be? Betsy has a good beautician she likes, near the Mission West RV Park, between Mission and Palmview.

Bob, we are going to be in Harlingen. You're in Mission right? Mission isn't that far, maybe I could get the name of hers as well. Thanks

Hi Becky,

I can't think of the name but I will find it when we get to the RGV. I do remember you turn south behind the American Legion building. Then it is a block or two and it is on a corner. Seems like it is south and a little east. The shope faces north. It is a husband and wife that have the shop. He is a barber. DH went to the Barber.
Remind me when we get there and I will tell you the name and number.

Can someone explain what the Rio Grand Valley area consists of?
Can't find it on the map and I just know you folks can answer me.

Many thanks,

Becky, It is Vanessa's beauty salon, 1014 East Loop 374, Mission, 956-580-0370. That is also Business 83 and is south of 83 and Inspiration Rd. She is a young gal but does nice work and is very reasonable.

The Rio Grande Valley is an area extending fom South Padre Island, Brownsville on the east to Rio Grande City on the west that is approximately 30 miles wide. Towns in the valley (east to west) are: Brownsville, South Padre Island, Port Isabel, Los Fresnos, San Benito, Rancho Viejo, Harlingen, La Feria, Mercedes, Weslaco, Donna, Pharr, Hidalgo, Edinburg, McAllen, Mission, Rio Grande City.

Look at your map and you will find all these towns. There are over 700 parks in the valley. We are right on the US/Mexico border. Nuevo Progresso is a Mexican town located just south of Weslaco that is a favorite of our winter Texans.

Close, actually Brownsville to Mission is 67.2 mi, that is what I would consider the heart of the Valley, maybe a little further west of Mission to include Palmview & La Joya. It is a pretty good drive from La Joya to Rio Grand City.
