We went to the Don-Wes Flea market at Donna today. We saw a really good show. Cactus Willie, Boxcar Bob & The Drifter were playing in the cafe. We had not seen them before and we really liked them. They played a wide variety of music. A combination of Folk, Country, Rock & Blue Grass. A REALLY GREAT!!! show and it was free too.
Here is their web site if you want to check their schedule.

The cafe also serves a really good burger too.

We went to Gonzales Burger today and it was incredible as usual. Still packed but they have added outdoor tables which help a lot. It took an hour to get our food but it was well worth the wait.

We went to the Horseman tonight for one last fling before heading back home. Who would have thought it would be so hard to say goodbye to the girls who knew us by our first names and served us so well each week. Then on to Denny's where our favorite waitress brought us our usual Wed night breakfasts. A sweet young mom who always tolerated us old timers with a shy smile. Guess this is just the beginning of saying goodbyes to many new friends. What a great winter this has been.

We sure had a great time in RGV this yr. It was our first time, but our stay was sadly cut short as my MIL passed away and we had to leave early. We hope to return next yr and stay longer. We met so many wonderful folks and felt so good, we see why so many love it there.

Thanks for the link to flea markets. We have left the valley for this year, but I saved it in my favorites in my RGV folder.

If you are still in the Valley now is the time to go to Nuevo Progresso Mexico.
We went today, it was not busy at all & we could get around easily.
By 10:30 my wife & I each had a dental cleaning & exam, ($20.00 ea)
Hair cut ($4.00) & Shoeshine ($1.50). Then on to a little shopping, a couple of 2 for 1 margaritas & a GREAT lunch at Arreba's in the Progresso Marketplace.
Many discounts now in the stores too. A great time for very few $$$.

Ron,
why don't you start a closed sticky for the RGV with just links to the things you have posted this year about activities in the RGV? This would allow newbies each year to just browse the sticky and find all that is available and by being closed, it would allow you to control what is posted in the sticky.
