Why are orange cones on the track surface in the first place.....? .......So they can be hit by cars going 300 m.p.h.

I have a sweet tender nature, however I enjoy sharing my thoughts and opinions.

If you look at the video in super slow motion it was the second orange object that shot out that traveled at a much faster speed and passed the first orange cone. It then hit Force's car and that is when the tire blew.

You might want to view the video more. If you frame by frame it, you will see both cones went behind his car. You can see one cone by the wall, the other is behind the rear corner panel.

Might want to watch the race again too. They were having problems with the tires coming apart on the nitros. Watch the runs and you can see chunks of them flying off. Even showed some tires that came off Vandergriff, I think.

Of course if it was a tire problem, we will never know, as Goodyear can't make a bad tire. Just ask Darrell Russell's family.

It could also have been debris from the timing lights that may not be visable in the video.

Not to belittle any of the above but he was issueing orders to everybody while he was being loaded into the helicopter. So while it was and is very serious he is already on the way back to being normal. He is definitly a fixture on the drag circluit and would be greatly missed if he suffers anything permanent.

John Force is a great guy and one of the reasons that NHRA has become so popular. I have met him several times over the years and he is truly down to earth. Just an "old truck driver" that enjoys running his "Hot Rod" and watching his large "family" do the same. I wish him a speedy recovery.. This has been a difficult year for Force Motorsports and I am just glad that he will be OK.

I don't watch a lot of drag racing, but his daughter Ashley makes me want to pay closer attention to it.

Here's to a speedy recovery.

Timers or cones didn't cause this accident. The cones we're sent into his lane but are at least 30' behind the car.

It saw the right rear body of the car dragging on the ground right before the crash.
Garbage Goodyear tires caused this wreck.Darrel Russell and Eric Medlen died because of Goodyear slicks failing at 300+ mph.

John Force

Monday, 1:30 a.m. Central: Good news from Baylor University Medical Center where doctors operating on 14-time NHRA Funny Car champ John Force were able to set his broken left ankle and determined that his wrist was not broken but just severely dislocated.

According to teamspokesman Elon Werner, doctors inserted three pins into Force's ankle to set it, and also inserted three temporary pins to stabilize his wrist.

Force came through the surgery well. A full update will be issued by the team midday Monday

Maybe PSD Excursion, or one of you can help me in finding some link(s) to some of the interviews, or biography history of John Force. Since we're on the subject of John Force, I just think a guy this positive, something can be learned by studying his positive interviews and attitude..
