I experimented with bananas - after four days the ones left out on the counter were almost black and the ones in the bag (also un-refrigerated) had no black at all. Made banana nut bread so I don't know how long they would have lasted in the bag. I found mine at Walgreens. My daughter has really used them for everything and says they are wonderful. Is anyone using the ones for bread? I haven't purchased those.

I didn't know they had them for bread! I'll be looking for those, I'm tired of throwing bread away, waste of money.

I love them, bought mine on ebay and even with S&H was less expensive than the tv ad.

I have them and am not impressed. You have to keep the moisture out of them for them to be effective. On my counter top in the kitchen, bananas and such will have condensation in the bag. If I have to take time to wipe them down daily, they really haven't been worth the trouble. Just my opinion!

I tried the bread bags I got a few weeks ago. I wasn't impressed. Bread turned tough in 1 day (tried with two types of bread). We are very "high & dry" so except for throwing bread in the freezer, I haven't found a good way to keep bread fresh. Best alternative for us are the frozen yeast rolls, baked for one meal at a time .

Have used them for at least 10 years and would not be without them. Be sure to use a different bag for each type of fruit or produce. The mixing of veggies in the same green bag defeats the purpose of controlling the gases given off. Health food stores are a good place to find them but they tend to be more expensive there.

I bought them but am not sure if they extend veggie life or not. One thing I notice is that I tend to be more vigilant, trying to use them up before they go funky, so that's a good thing. One bunch of bananas seemed to take on a kind of chemical/plastic taste from the green bag. Bud had eaten one the day before we put them in there and said there was nothing unusual in the way the unbagged banana tasted. We ended up throwing that bunch out. My potatoes went ahead and sprouted so they also got tossed. Oh, I hate to do that. I think the old way of shopping daily might be best, but that's not practical anymore.

Tried them with bananas to no avail. Turned to mush in just 3 days. HMMMM.
