What has anyone done to get more deep freeze space without spending a fortune.

Never found the need for more freezer space.
However, if you have the space for one, there are some nice small freezers available.

We paid less than $150 for a 5 cu ft upright in Anchorage. It seems one member of the family went fishing crazy in Seward. We carry the freezer in the back of the Ranger pickup and plug it in and start the generator during the day if needed. At night it is plugged into the electrical outlet on the pedestal in the campground. Yea, it was me and the DW mentions it every now and then. Heading back to Alaska next spring, hope we don't need two freezers.

we purchased a small medical freezer from compact appliance
its just over 3.o cub feet and was under 200 dollars
it firs perfectly in the basement and will stay frozen down to -20
when we are on the road it stays very coldand has a lock to keep it shut.
I did add a small fan in the basement to help circulate air behind the unit.

Was on an Alaskan cruise in Aug and spent twice that amount for the charter, processing, and shipment of 20 Lbs of fish. Yup it was worth it!
