I Have a 96 Scamper that I replaced my plug on. The first thing I did was identify all the plug pins, then match the light functions: running lights, turn signals, back-up, 12 volt charging, brake, and ground(7pins). I did not go by color. Most trucks plugs are the same for the round 7 pin. the wiring is usually on the plug cover, or owners manual. Use a little dab of dielectric grease on the plugs for a good connection. good luck!

Check Steve Das's web page for wiring information. Step by step instructions on wiring a 7 pin connector are at Creative Trailer Components.

Hi. What you want to do is just cut the four way off. Then identify with a test light what color wires are truly what, Then just go get yourself a new 7way and with it will be a good diagram on where to connect and run all your wires even directions to hard wire your brake controller and 12v power wire...good luck!
