I'd welcome opinions about preferences for different dining "booth" layouts - on models without a slide.

I've seen the booth run parallel with the long side of the camper and also across the short end in front of the bunk so that you have to remove the table to go into the bunk. Then, there is the style with the three-sided couch area with the removable table.

What do you prefer?

By the way, what is a bump dining area?

....I believe it is when the Dinning area is in the Slideout....I have a Fleetwood Utah CP that has just that. I like having the Dinning area in our Utah CP being across from the Bench, makes it feel cozier than having you at one end of the Pop Up (Dinning area) and your visitors seated midway along the side.

if you have the money and the tow vehicle... go for a fleetwood sequioa with u shaped dinette otherwise anything with a slide out. all trailers are about 80 wide... if you have any dinette ... no room at all if more than two with a dog say nothing for children... ..but then again why r u inside...?

Having the dining area along the side of the trailer with the sofa/bench directly across from it is one of the reasons why we selected our Coachmen Clipper 1070ST. It is a great layout, and no table or bench to crawl over when tucking in for the night.

How many people will be camping with you? If it's just the two of you (or one person), then the dinette location won't matter for crawling over into bed. However, the side dinettes, particularly the ones in "bump-outs" or side slideouts, give you a more spacious feel, and will be more comfortable on those rainy/cold days when you might want to spend more time inside.

We had a PUP with the u-shaped couch in front of the bed, I myself did not like crawling over the cushions to get in to bed. Espically when you have company sleeping on the couch trying to crawl over them without stepping on someone. We now have a PUP with the couch length wise, makes it so much easier for getting in and out of bed. Although the u-shaped couches are very nice and roomy, miss that part. You have to decide what is better for your needs and family.

I have a table that is along the side, so no need to climb around it and it works out well. It is on the end with the smaller bed. I sleep on the other end with the larger bed, which is next to the galley. Remember, unless you buy a 12 footer, your space will be tight.Keep the clutter down, and camping should be a breeze.

ours runs parallel to the short side of the camper, and works quite well for us. There is enough space as there is only two of us. We decided not to go with any slide outs as we didnt really need all that extra space.

We have a Palomino Mustang SDL that has no slide outs and two dinettes. A U shaped one in the front of the trailer and a sideways dinette with a table that folds or is removable at the rear with the back seat of the dinette being a couch that goes all the way across the trailer.

WIth the three of us and two 80lb retrievers we found that leaving the U dinette's table home and just using the side dinette works fine for us and allows easier access to both bunk ends, plus there is room on the U dineete seat for our Golden to sleep and we can still get around him. I like using the Ushaped dinette to read while DS is using the table to watch a movie on the laptop or to draw or paint. We just feel that the table on a post while nice it works better for us to just have the couch. Now to figure out a folding foot rest.
