Does anyone use Synthetic oil in their Honda generators? Good idea - bad idea? Pro's - cons?
Got a new Honda 2000, I was thinking about using Ams 10W30 in it, just wanted to see what everyone does.

I use Mobil 1. No problems or issues to date with it.

I run Mobil 1 5W30 in my Honda 5.5 motor on my aircompressor, and in my 14.5 Briggs lawn mower engine. Also ran it in my '02 Suburban. good stuff.

Just put some hours on it with regular oil to get it broke in before switching to synthetic.

Yep, a couple of short interval oil changes with conventional, then use the synthetic of your choice.

I'm free of prostate cancer for 5 years now.
All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

No, he asked if anyone used SYNTHETIC, not Mobil 1 which isn't really synthetic of course

Sorry, I'm trolling

I put a few, very few hours on mine and then switched to Mobile 1. Every thing fine since 2004 when bought. Just got off a stint of 18 hour run time days for 10 days straight and not one problem.

Thanks for all of the replies.
I went with Valvoline 10w-30 synthetic blend.
