Happy Birthday, Princess Olivia!!!!!!

Heavy rain and storms last night in VA, too, but BOY, did we need it We were even under a tornado warning, for awhile, but nothing ever came of it, thank goodness! Today, it's MUCH less humid, cooler temps, and a nice breeze. Guess I'll spend the afternoon catching up on yard work

Happy camping to those lucky enough to be out this weekend

We got about 3.73" of rain at the end of the Delmarva. Around Norfolk and Hampton Roads they were looking at that to about 7".

Hope things have calmed down at Cherrystone ROBO. On the Jersey coast we got some rain and some wind--nothing like they were predicting. I was to fly out today to Denver for a Nursing conference...got a call at 12:00am that my flight was cancelled and I was rescheduled for Friday--BUMMER!! I will still get there in time for the start of the conference--but I was really disappointed and so was Gary(I think he was really looking for a few quiet days without me! HMMMMM.
Our friends were at Cherrystone last week and said it was pretty quiet for the middle of July-same thoughts Scott??

I would agree since this is our seventh year here.

Upon arrival on Saturday the waterfront was packed with more tents than we had ever seen but many of those were associated with a church youth group.

However, even mid-week for this time of year it is easily only 50% capacity and many of those here are seasonals if not multi-week types such as we are.

I still believe it is worth the drive. And of course with three Verizon bars it is much more survivable!

And for those of you not knowing what to do when RV.Net is working funky, usually the Woodalls site is not as cantankerous.

Scott, Glad everything turned out okay after the storm. I agree, I LOVE the sound of rain on the trailer however a storm like last night makes me very uneasy. Hopefully tonight will be a quiet restful eve.

Hello Scott,

I know you use an aircard but did you try the WiFi? I'll be there in two weeks and like to get online every now and then. Also do you know if it is throughout the campground or only in the office?

Enjoy the rest of your vacation

-Matt

Matt?

Matt who?

Hah!

No, I am finally able to use my three bar Verizon toys. AT&T and Verizon both put up dishes just across the inlet.

Technically, the hot spots are at the store, bait & tackle shop and cafe. The cafe seems to be the best and of course it is inside. I have not used it this year but when I did previously it was fairly fast. And of course, free!

Sharon...

Once the storm passed, all was well. It has been quite pleasant again.

A group of four young folks were camping nearby and lost their tent during the storm. They have been sleeping out of their E150 van since then. All their stuff is still outside on the site. I wondered why they did not head out to the Wal-Mart for another tent.

Don't get me wrong, the financial side of things is apparent. Wal-Mart is another 60 miles up the road and a tent would not be cheap. As for me, I would have made the trip or perhaps even a quick fix from the camp store.

I give them a lot of credit though. Like I said, all their stuff is outside and fortunately there has been no rain since. They have been cooking, having a campfire every night and keeping the cooler filled with ice. I'll have to look at the license plate to see where they are from.

I did not mention one of the the four is female. So, the E-150 is a bit cramped.

Those are REAL campers! Who needs trailers and AC and bathrooms............. I hope they weren't in the tent when the storm came by.
