We are currently shopping around for a motorhome and as of this morning, think the decision will be between the Tiffin Phaeton 40QSH and the Allegro bus 40QRP. The biggest problem is deciding between the two and rationalizing spending the difference between them.
After speaking with many salespeople, ones head starts to swim trying to seperate reality from sales jargon so I pose a question for those who have experience with this brand.
Is the Tiffin customer service really as good, and are these coaches really as trouble free as I'm being led to believe?

You very rarely here any Tiffin owner complain about the company. Most complains are with the dealers service centers who in a lot of cases can't repair any make coach properly.

Customer service after the sale is excellent. Tiffin builds a good coach, but more than likely problems will arise, but Tiffin will address the problem and get the repairs done! Bagman.

Our FT neighbors went to the Hershey show last mo & traded a Montana 5er for a Phaeton 42QRH. They had been talking to another Phaeton owner in the park before they went to show. They're having trouble trying to find things wrong with it to take it in for warranty.
We talked to a Tiffin salesman at the show, too. They said the engine was larger on ABus, the cabinets were all hardwood. I can't recall any other differences, but did get the brochures. Usually putting them sidebyside explains it more. Better yet, look around the RVParks & knock on a few doors of Tiffin owners.
I talked to a ABus owner for nearly an hour at the show inside the Bus 40ORP. It was my favorite. He went on & on about the great CS, he was on his 2nd Tiffin & was thinking about trading again. He said he wouldn't look at any others.

Tiffin customer service is second to none. I have heard MANY stories of Tiffin authorizing repairs at no cost after the warranty had expired. As you can see from my sig., we went with the Phaeton 40QSH. I looked at the Bus as well, but I could not justify spending the extra 50k at this time. With the Bus you will get the Spartan chassis, 400+ hp, IFS, and side radiator. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

We followed a friend of ours that has a 03 Phaeton to Red Bay last month. He was going there for some repairs done, at NO CHARGE. We have done several other factory tours, but there is NONE that compares to the Tiffin tour, unbelievable. I have not seen another factory camp grounds like this either.
Many good reasons to have the Bus, one it will have a 2-stage jake brake over a exhaust brake. Better cooling and excess to the diesel.

Before I bought my 2003 motorhome I did 3 years of research because I didn't know one end of DP from the other. That research led me to conclude that no matter what motorhome I bought, I was very likely to have some problems with it. And that includes Prevost, Blue Bird, Foretravel and other high end motorhomes. My conclusion was that it made sense to buy a motorhome from the company with the best reputation in the business for standing behind its products. I bought an Allegro Bus. Did I have some problems? Yes. Did Tiffin make things right? Yes. What more do you need? My coach is over 5 years old and has 65,000 miles on it. Still love it.

Great service and good product. Are you fulltiming? Be careful on the model Allegro Bus. Some have very small cabinets and openings. Phaeton is larger as are some models of the bus. Good luck, you can't go wrong here.

Tiffin after purchase support was THE reason we went with a Tiffin product.
Tiffin after purchase support is the MAIN reason our next MH will also be a Tiffin.
We had very minor warranty issues, they were resolved as if they were major issues.
Our dealer also happened to be an extremely supportive and responsive after the purchase.
For us, it's the Tiffin way or No Way!, even though we are out of warranty, I know I can still get factory support, and won't mind paying for it.
Good Luck on whatever you decide.
