Thank you everyone for your replies! FR wants $720. + s&h for just the monitor. (19" Venturer) No tuner. I guess I'm just going to try and find a TV monitor. Seems like one of these electronic stores would have something, don't know why CC couldn't help. I guess I will try BB. I have been reading all the specifications in the Concertone book and I have not been able to match it. Do you now the things that really have to match to make it work? There are alot of different specifications. Thanks again

When our monitor recently went out, we just used the kid's Polaroid LCD tv. Just used the bracket off the back of the monitor and plugged it into shore power. It has all the connections to use the Concertone plugs. Worked just fine till we got our replacement (still under warranty) They did send us a different unit, this one appears to be an actual tv as opposed to a monitor.

I'm sorry to see yet another Concertone issue. After 19 months of study and looking we had pretty much decided on the 8318 it met my weight, price and floor plan requirments but now Jayco has come out with the Jay Feather 311 and has crept into the lead. The constant problems with this concertone issue shows me that FR has not been serious about addressing what is clearly an on going problem. Added to this issue is every 8318 I have looked at in the last year has Carlisle tires on them and frankly those things scare me to death. I know some of the readers may get tired reading about the same old problems, but for those on the edge of buying every bit of information is helpful. I know there are going to be repair issues on any brand I buy...but knowing there are specific problems out there and not being addressed only narrows the field of brands. If FR loses out it can be traced back to the issues I have listed above.

What's the weight of the trailer? As part of the deal have them weigh the trailer. If the tires meet the weight requirement there shouldn't be any problems. A manufacturer doesn't make bad product year after year and stay in business. At the very least the DOT (dept. of Transportation) would put them out of business.

Carlisle is a great big company - with thousand of tires out there.

BTW, I just finished three years on Carlisle (Radial Trail) tires. Always checked pressure and pulled at no more than 60mph. They never gave me a bit of problems.

I probably could have left them on another year, but Southern California has been real warm the last year or so with hardly any rain and I didn't want to take any chances.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

$720 for a piece of junk!? for $700 you can get a nice 32" widecreen flat panel TV. definitely time to do some price shopping!

Just recieved my replacement lcd tv. the new replacement model is a Jensen JE1908 19 inch HD TV With HD tuner built in. I am happy they quit making the 15 inch analog. I am in the Tv business and Analog is going to be out in 2009, meaning all the Concertone units with the built in tuners will not work. The only way to get the system to work will be with a sattelite box or converter hooked to the Monitor (the 15 inch older style) You would think that the 2006 and up trailers would have the HD monitors , and the concertone Head unit would have at least the Digital tuner.

I talked to Forest River Rockwood Sales Manager yesterday and we chatted about the Concertone system. He acknowledged the issues folks were having and said that they have been shipping different units starting in Oct 2007. I really don't want the Concertone (especially at $1100), but I really want the wiring laid in already, so I am going to pay the coin to get the entertainment system in my 2701SS. If it is horrible, I'll replace it. We don't have high standards for our camper tv. Mother nature provides a much better show.
