Just thought that I would give an update from this old post. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/20210338.cfm
I will probably mess the link up. I bought a new Reese dual cam and installed it. Checked the clearances and all that good stuff. I am taking the bars off at the bottom of my driveway and so far it is working well. We have been on several trips and have had no bends or anything unusual. I am hoping that it really was my driveway causing trouble. I appreciate the help from you guys.

I had a similar problem turning into a restaurant in Va. while on our 60 day trip. My spring bar broke in half near the cam end. Good luck / Skip

Buy me one and ship it to me and I gladly will. Otherwise I will keep the money I saved and put it in my IRA while happily using the Reese DC that has perform flawlessly for 2 years. Why is it so difficult to believe another product performs well. The Hensley is not without it's faults either BTW.

Biggrigg, remember that some free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

And you guys wonder why many of us get tired of your arrogance about a trailer hitch of all things. You all either need to find a way to make yourselves feel better about spending that kind of money on a hitch or get over the fact that most people aren't impressed with your "need" to have the "best, safest, nothings too good for my family, etc,etc.".

Oh Brother.. you don't need to justify your $3000 to anyone out here. Just TRY to get comfortable with your decision and stop trying to convince the rest of us that you did the right thing.

I've come to believe that if I posted that my hitch had a chip of paint fall off someone would tell me that I "shouldagotahensley."

I am curently towing with GMC Envoy 2W drive pulling a trail cruiser about 4000 lbs loaded with an equalizer hitch and find that I can not get enough sway control with it if I raise the supports on the trailer I get more control but the bars are not pararlel to the frame is this normal and any feed back on this hicth would be appriciated

Thanks

I believe you need to adjust such that the TV and TT are level. That should put enough pressure on the bars to provide sway control. Also, you want to check to see that the bolts (where the bars connect to the hitch) are tightened properly.

Good luck
