Deffently different batteries Sam, Deffently Different. Like the poster above, who kindly provided the link, I went to the East Penn Battery Company site and confirmed they make DEKA and MK I've not tracked the linage of Interstate though.

How can you say they are different? Look at them, they are identical and those speed caps are a US battery patent. I have no doubt that Deka makes some of their batteries but their 6 volts are made by US battery, Interstate does not make batteries... period.

Remember patents can be licensed! The last time I looked at Trojan T-105s, they had the same speed cap....are you telling me that US Battery makes Trojan batteries as well?!? That would make most of these well pedigreed 6V batteries (Trojan, Interstate, Deka, US Battery (?)) the same.......boy, them's fightin' words around these here parts!!!
You better check for prices on Trojan 105's. I paid $110 a piece in Kalispel, MT. in July. Some battery outfit out of Spokane, WA. Lead has gone up, but I believe you are getting ripped.
According to the BATTERY MANUFACTURERS AND BRAND NAMES LIST, Deka is made by East Penn-Deka, and Interstate U series batteries are made by U.S. Battery, although U.S. Battery makes the Deka Marine Master. The Deka Pro Master series are made by East Penn. Oh, and Trojans are made by Trojan, but they also make Sea-Volt for West Marine.

John, I think you have that backwards, us battery makes the pro master 6 volt.
Trojan battery makes their own 6 volters as does Exide, neither of these use speed caps. All the batteries I have seen with speed caps are made by US battery. Look at the Trojan web site, you will not find speed caps on any of their batteries.

I'm just repeating what Bill Darden has on his site, because his listing of manufacturer's and brand names is the most complete I have seen and he updates it regularly. I have Lifelines. I can also see where someone might license the speed caps from US Battery.
