Went camping this weekend with my brother to Dove Springs in Mojave. He owns an older C class RV. I own a 2006 toyhauler but decided it was easiest to go in his. I get to his house and he has not done a thing to get ready. RV is still at the end of the street where he parks it. He didn't do a thing to get it ready. No water in it, refrigerator off, bike trailer is not connected. When I go out, I usually have half of my things packed up the day before, regerator on, gassed up etc... We get out to Dove Springs and then find out he has no flashlite, nothing to drink out of except 2 coffee mugs, no knife, it goes on and on. My girlfriend thinks I am too much of a planner and my bro's attitude is fine. I was just curious how many of you get ready at the last minute. Thanks.

I am definitely a planner. The day we start out, we load clothes, medicines, and perishables. That's it. Everthing else is ready ahead of time. I hate rushing around at the last minute, so must of it's got to be done ahead of time.

I don't care how much planning you do, the wife makes a list.

Push come to shove, I'll go with you. Of course I'm a planner and it is ready to go now, minus food and a change or three of clothing.

I'm ready to pull out and hit the road the day before. Just a few last minute items to load and off we go. I'll spend an hour or two for a few days earlier in the week.

Nope, not me.

I turn our refrigerator on a few days we're scheduled to leave for a trip. I plan out our menu for our trip about a week before. We go grocery shopping on the way to the RV storage lot the evening before our trip and load all our food. At that time we also load clothes, books, etc.

When leaving for a trip, I want to pull into the storage lot, hitch up, and leave. Normally we can do this in around 15 minutes.

Planning our route and menu for the trip is a lot of fun! I love coming up with creative ideas of what we're going to cook on the trip.

I check all systems a couple of days before trip. Two days before trip, I turn on the fridge, fill the water. Day before, load food and other supplies, hook up toad. Day of trip, get up and go.

DW and I are with you. The only thing that goes in the camper the day of the trip is whatever we need to put in the refrigerator. It takes some planning, but it is better than getting where you are going and find out that you don't have what you need.

I usually have everything loaded, iced, fueled, and ready to go when DW gets home from work, and we LEAVE.

When leaving on the maiden voyage with our new TH she got caught up in seasonal traffic and got home 3 hours later than planned. I was climbing the walls, she was pi$$ed, and we hit rush hour traffic in Tampa, which I had hoped to avoid.

She quit her job and now works 4 minutes from the house.

Gotta go, we're leaving Friday and I got stuff to DO!

I'm a planner and am ready the day before with a check list everytime I go. There will be no campground store within 100 miles of me!!
