Last night while sitting around watching TV the generator kicked on by itself and the TV went off. We have a 2005 Coachmen Sports Coach. We were plugged into a 50 AMP service and had no disruption of service. We do not have the auto start generator... Has anyone experienced this?

Yes, I came home from the coffee shop one morning and the generator was running. Are there any cats running around where you are?

Did not see any cats or squirrels around. We were at the KOA in Fort Smith, AR....What do you think this might have to do with the situation.

I think CHASTHO might have mentioned the cats thinking that one of them may have made his/her way up into the generator area and inadvertently triggered the start button located on the generator itself. Then again, this is just a guess as CHASTHO didn't mention why he asked about cats.
Also, the fact that you didn't see any cats or squirrels around probably doesn't have any bearing on whether or not they could have caused it. If a cat (or squirrel) did accidentally trigger the generator, the sound it it cranking up would probably have scared the bejesus out the the little critter and they would have run away from the coach faster than an RV salesman running to a customer with a checkbook in his/her hand.

It would seem strange that a cat would stand on the start button long enough that once the starter engaged and gen bumped, it wouldnt have been scared off

I agree.
It also seems strange that the generator would start by itself.
However, as I stated in my post, I was just venturing a guess as to CHASTHO's reason for asking.

Our first trip out was to a local lake (in the off season). There were a bunch of raccoons roaming the grounds. One started my neighbors generator.

Your problem may be corrosion or moisture in the remote start plug to the generator and this is a common problem. Look at your generator and you will see a cable coming out of the left side of the generator and there is a connector on the end, and then it runs inside the motorhome. Pull the connector apart and spray it good with electric contact cleaner and then shove it back together and back apart again to clean the contacts. Let both sides of the connector dry and then coat the pins with di-electric silicone and put the connector back together. That should fix you problem.
You can buy the contact cleaner and di-electric silicone at any automotive store.
