We are packed and ready to head out later tonight but looking at the weather forcast I am concenred with the high wind warnings, especially on Sunday when we plan to return. 25 mph plus winds worry me when towing a 28' tag along trailer, even more so since reading about the wrecks on the 14 and 58 around Mojave this week. Any else concerned and for you high desert guys, what are you hearing about the winds this weekeend?

We've been typically riding at Dove Springs for the past 3 years, and whenever there is a Santa Ana conditions in LA, there very little to no winds in DS.

Hi all,
I'm a New Englander who got caught in those wind near Mojave early this week. I've never seen anything like it, worse than our Nor'Easters. I barely made it from Ridgecrest to Mojave, they closed 14 as I got to Mojave. I was on business so no towing, had a Durango.
You desert guys must be one with your weather guys. I posted a picture on general forums

Weather.com Cal City forecast is what has us worried. They are calling for 20-25 mph winds all weekend.

Hi all,
the radio was reporting gusts up to 90mph. I'm not certain they actually reached 90, but they did blow my durango from the right rumble strip to the left on several occasions.
Cheers,

The santa anna winds can be fickled in the desert, it can be calm, cool and very nice up here, or it can be somewhat windy, but nowhere near what happened the other day. 20 to 25 mph winds are light to us who live up here, when it comes to the poker run at calcity, a little wind helps blow the dust away from camp and thats a good thing.
The winds we went thru at easter this year on saturday night were unlike anything i have ever camped in, and it had nothing to do with santa anna winds...There are a ton of members in here that rode that night out just as i did....
