We drove up I-5 to Auburn, CA, a couple of weeks ago and it was a strange experience, because traffic was so light. We saw few RV's of any kind and no B's at all. Also, the northern part of the state seemed as tinder dry as the south, and that does not bode well for the summer.

Jack, that 'rustic adventure' would be just three doors off 5-lane Tunnel Road / US 70 in suburban east Asheville now. That's one of a dense group of cabins in a tourist cabin / CG built in the 19-teens for folks who weren't well-heeled enough to stay at Grove Park Inn. Homeland Park; see http://dc.lib.unc.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/nc_post&CISOPTR=2008&REC=9. I recall the giant coffee pot to the right of the entrance from the 60's when I first moved here. They're now individually owned with postage-stamp size yards, and I think the last one I saw was priced in the high $70's.

Veering back to sorta on-topic, that B was parked right across the street from a pre-1980 Toyota Chinook pop-top. Complete and non-rusty, but immobile. A tiny C, about 15'.

It has been a "dry" few weeks here locally. I haven't seen any B's in a while.
But....... today, when I went to the bank before heading out on a trip, my corner of my eye caught this one!

This is at a local diner. I remember seeing this Xplorer a couple of years ago I think. It looks like the owner (maybe a new owner) has taken good care of it and made some improvements.
Notice the curtains in the skylight and the wind spoiler on the hood.

This Pleasure-Way was at the State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. I didn't see any people, but there was a green parrot on the front seat. The PW has Missouri license plates.

Here's a couple I got pics of on our recent voyage. The first was a Ford 4x4 with pop top in Salt Lake City.

This one was in Fort Bridger. Talked to the lady who said she bought hers from a doctor from India. Something seemed to ring a bell with that story...but couldn't place it. She really liked her B, but her Starcool system wasn't working. Said she gets 16mpg.

I brought my B in for a generator service today, and pulled into the lot at the same time as a gentleman in a 1999 PW Excel. We had a good chat and I invited him to join us here on RV.Net, as well as to the Class B Social in Moab this fall.

If she bought it at the Sportsmobile plant in Indiana, I know the doctor *and* our shop has done several oil changes and tire rotations on the van. It sure looks like his old van. What a hoot! Thanks for posting

I've seen half a dozen 'B's in the last two days around Glacier NP. With the length restrictions here all the big rigs are in the parks - most of the RVs on the road are B's or small C's. Still, we've seen more B's here in the last two days than in the previous two months of travel.

Saw 1 Roadtrek in Patowatomi State Park in Wis this morning. Dick talked with the lady a bit and found out she and her sister travel in it and love it....
By the time I got over to talk to them and get a picture they had left.
