We were in Ely MN last weekend in our B. Saw a Sportsmobile Sprinter B in a parking lot in front of a laundromat. We didn't stop to say hi this time, we were in a hurry to get some groceries and get back to our selected campground before dark (and mosquito swarm time)

We passed an oncoming silver color Sprinter B pulling a boat on M115 near Cadillac, Michigan. Only had time to wave as he honked.
There were two other Bs in the Straits State Park campground in St. Ignace, MI near the bridge.

I've never seen so few RV's on the road as this year. We just put 6500 miles on our car, yes the car, going across the North part of the US into southern Ontario. We would have had to part the B and rent a space for it and rent a car so it just didn't make sense. We've made this trip many times - not only were the RVs fewer but so were the cars expect in large city areas.
The only place we saw lots of RVs was in the U.P. and back in southern BC, almost at home. There were few B's but each one made us miss the one parked in our garage. In this area it is not unusual to see a B every day. Have to edit it this to say that the daily sightings are in the peak of summer along the main corridor through the valley.
Our friends just bought a used RoadTrek - their best vacation in years. Not too big, has everything you need, the gas is semi-bearable and their own bed.

Hey, I was driving my Sportsmobile on M115 thru Cadillac, Michigan on Sunday the 13th, then again on Friday, the 18th. Too bad we didn't see each other. The only B I noticed while "up north" was a blue & white Roadtrek (not sure which model) in Empire, MI on Wednesday, the 16th.

Early Friday morning, caught a sighting of 'Roadhouse' (our 'B') while relaxing on our Florida friends get-away 'Fifth Wheel Property' deck, at the 'Talking Rock Creek Properties', located right next to Carter's Lake, "Georgia's deepest, most beautiful and unspoiled lake, renowned for trophy striped bass fishing".

See it?...right above the deck rail!

One-way drive from our Florida residence?...654 miles, an 11 hour drive doing an average top speed of 66 mph. Our highest diesel cost?...$4.99 per gal... ...lowest?...$4.68... (on the return trip, due to the lower cost per barrel issue...(I guess... )

Yes...Tim (tfrazie) was driving...or, rather, Tim was chatting it up with someone who was collecting money for the local Rescue Squad at the traffic light.

We left NC on June 8, drove up to Maine and into the Atlantic Provinces, all the way to Newfoundland and Labrador, returning to NC via St. Augustine, Fl. A distance of about 6,000 miles. We were amazed at how few RV's we saw and even fewer "B's" than usual. I took pictures of some B's that sat still long enough, but don't have a clue how to post them. There were four B's at Arm of Gold Campground near North Sidney, NS on 6/19. Us, a 1999 PW, and two other RT's. Three of the four were on the ferry to Newfoundland the next day. We camped several times together the following week. There were two other RT's on the ferry coming back on 6/27, but we did not meet the owners. One was an older RT (maybe 80's?), tan in color with orange and brown stripes, plate CONNORTH from Ontario. Met a couple from New Zealand in a shiny new rented RT that night in New Brunswick. I counted a total of about 20 for the whole trip, mostly in Canada.

In a parking lot for the local ferry to the islands off the Cape was a VW Westy.
Notice the side sheet metal panel on the driver's side instead of a window there. I bet that is useful in keeping the Westy cooler in the summer. I was wondering what year they stopped selling these in the USA?
I was walking along the bike path there and it caught my eye:

This must be the time for B's to come to the Cape. I am seeing more everyday.
Below is a pic of a RT I took this morning around 6:30AM at the local Wal-Mart. There was another large class A and small TT there too. My DW told me about this one when she returned home least evening from WalMart. She forgot to take a picture so I was hoping the RT would still be here this morning. It is... (This is almost as much fun as going fishing...)
I like the gold color on this RT.
