I was in Washington State this past weekend and picked up a wireless backup camera from Costco for $79. It comes with a 3.5" screen and is 2.4GHz.

Has anyone tried it out yet? I bought the other camera they had (2.5" screen) a month ago, but never opened it so I'll be returning that one.

Pretty cool. Is the camera 12 volt?

It says on the back that it plugs into the cigarette lighter for power and has a USB port to charge up an ipod or something. Looks like a nifty gadget.

I think they are refering to the monitor.

I just returned from my first trip with the newly mounted cameras. I have one on the bumper to assist with hitching up and one on the spare tire mount on the back of the TT.

Both cameras run to a single monitor that I can toggle back and forth between the cameras.

The bumper mount comes on when I put the X in reverse and now hitch up with ease on the first attempt. I switch to the TT camera when running down the road to assist in lane changes and such.

This setup works very well. I probably have $150 in the setup.

I TRIED IT & TOOK IT BACK, THE SIGNAL WOULD NOT PENETRATE THE CAMPER TO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK, ALL I GOT WAS INTERFERENCE.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS, BUT IT'S NATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY

I have the 3.5 & 2.5 wireless "other" cameras... they both work great! I use one on a stick with magnet to view backing under the camper and the other mounted on the rear of the TC. Give them good clean 12v power (relay) and you shouldn't have too much problem with signal. Certain areas will cause poor signal (some power poles etc...) and if your home is one of those places... wireless might not be your best home backing choice... I might have to go get another one of those 3.5's to mount on the truck topper.

Read the warrenty and report on it please. I bought a similar one and then found it had a 30 day warrenty. I returned it. If the manufacturer thinks that 30 days is all that they'll warrenty it... why would I want it.

We have had several threads on these camera/monitors on the truck camper forum.

I sure wish that we had had one before John backed into something.....AGAIN. I think we will have to replace the entire bumper.

Maybe he'll get one for Christmas.
