I don't know how long my batteries will last with the furnace fan cycling on/off all night. Night time temps willl probably be in the 20's.

That's a different question. That depends on where you set your thermostat. I bundle the whole family up with good blankies and set the thermostat to 55. Well charged batteries won't have any trouble running the fans at that temperature. You'll want to fire up the gen when you get up and recharge them. But they should absolutely last you through the night.

Simple solution! Change out the 2 12volt batteries for 2 6volt golf cart batteries available at Sam's club for $62.00 each. Then you will not have to worry about CO levels from unvented heater. I had the same problem where 2 new 12volts would not last the night running the furnace set at 65 degrees. After changing to the 2 6volts I can run the furnace all night for 2 nights without a charge but I charge them everyday. Have not had any issues with 12volt power since batt. swap. Do a search of all RV.net forums for info on 12 to 6volt swap.

This past weekend, I used my Mr Buddy (the smaller of the two available) in my 25' TH in temps that got down in the 30's... it heated the trailer just fine.

Our T/H is 26'x8'tall = 208sq.ft. Heaters are sold by the square feet of the space to be heated. I bought a "Blue Flame," 10,000BTU with thermostat control. Before using it I tested it by setting it under the co/smoke detectors, turned it up full blast and closed up the trailer. After about ten minutes and a hot trailer the co detector didn't go off. We used it in Yellowstone a couple weeks ago and (2) on a 1 to 5 setting kept the chill off. I don't like to sleep in a hot room. I kept a 30" window open about one inch. I tapped off the trailer propane plumbing with a disconnect and hose run through the open window. I put the heater on the open oven door. It was the best heating buck I ever spent. I can't sleep with the loud blower on the furnace turning on and off. This heater just makes a little click when it turns on the gas. The window opening amounte to a 5x6 hole and I think that should be enough to compensate for the little oxy. the flame will burn. The two dogs sleep on the floor and they awoke alive and well. I wouldn't use a ceiling vent because the heat rises and may inhibit air from entering. I opened a side window. I think they are safe and do a good job.... IMO

I have the blue flame style with a thermostat as well. It works great. I stubbed in a quick disconnect through a cabinet and put a valve behind it. I built a stand out of some 2 X 2 aluminum angle to keep it about 1' off of the floor. I too leave a window open and open the vent closest to the floor in the garage.

I use a Mr. Buddy, Im awake when it is running in my trailer. Ive never left it on all night. The heater in the trailer works fine. Ive found out that if its cold enough all the other campers/trailers will run their heaters too. Noise has never been a factor. My batteries have held up, two 12 volters. Ive ran my trailer furnace with my night lights for the kids and have been able to fire up the generator in the morning to start the coffee. lol. I do use the quick charge feature on my trailer though after a night of battery use.

This one is easy. Use a ceramic heater and run the generator.
