I've been on one partnership and for us it worked out ok but it was an airplane. Besides the reasons the others have given we consider ours an extension of our home. We have pictures a few plants and many other personal items that are left in the fifth wheel. I don't think we would like sharing the things we have, Bathroom, kitchen, bedding, towels etc.

We've been co-owners in a beach condo for the past 20 some years.... all in all it's worked out great.... we have a schedule to rotate our time and have a list of our "rules" that everyone seems to obey for the most part.
But an RV..... especially a Class A or Class C, it seems like there's too many things that have to be done on the upkeep and dividing the responsibilities would be tough. It would probably be a lot easier if it were a 5th wheel or travel trailer.
Each of you having your own and RVing together sounds like a better idea.

What would happen if you or they wanted to sell, and the other couple couldn't afford to buy them out? What would happen if on family had an accident, or spilled or broke something in the RV? How would you schedule who used it when, and how would you handle a situation when one family had it scheduled and the other 'had to have it to go on a trip'?
Too many what if's for my comfort. But the decision is yours. If you decide to co-own, please try to get as much spelled out and agreed upon before signing the papers.

I wouldn't risk it. Each family should purchase their own rv.

My parents have coowned a boat for many years and all was well. I coowned a class c once many years ago. I can't say it was bad but I never had much chance to use it but that was my fault due to working all the time. I maintained the vehicle and he maintained the coach. Nothing went wrong so all was well. Had things been going bad it could have gotten real bad. I was lucky.

We knew two couples who were very good friends and bought a class A together, a few years later when they sold it they weren't speaking.

Being in sales I can tell you it is a no win situation for all involved. I did sell brothers a spray coupe they set a hourly charge that they each paid into a account this was used for repairs that way the one putting the most hours on paid more against the repairs this is the only one that I ever seen work out with positive results. at the 5 year mark they traded for new and had money in the account to put down.
