Handle it any way you want Jeff but for me, I don't haggle. I just don't have the time to play the haggle game. I establish the MSRP including all options, deduct 35%, make the offer and the dealer has two choices; they can take it or leave it. I usually just send out an email offer to a dozen dealers or so for the unit we want. Then buy from whomever takes our offer.

dsrtslider wrote: I did a lot of research on this before I bought my WW. I found that invoice is around 30% with no dealer holdbacks or rebates like car manufacturers give. I doubt many are getting 30+% off WW's unless it was a old unit that has sat for a period of a long time. I found that 20% - 25% is more of the good deal. The more higher priced WW's will get bigger discounts in relation to the lesser priced ww's.
I agree. I got 22% off and I priced 3 dealers against each other. That was the best I could get. I haggled every dealer down to within a couple hundred dollars of each other. The one with the best price got the order.

Generally the mark up for an RV is 45%. I have actually seen a dealers cost sheet which included the hold back. 30% off msrp will get very close to cost based on a 45% markup. Some where between 25% and 30% is where you want to shoot for. Selling at cost will not keep them in business very long. Some have a holdback. I'm aware of one manufacturer that holds back $1000. You must sell x amount of units to receive the hold back.

I was able to get 25% off from Giant RV on my WW. It was not easy to get this price however. After an hour of negotiation I was walking out the door when the owner came up and asked me what it would take to make the deal that day. I held firm at 25% and he agreed.

Wow guys! Thanks again very much! I wasn't sure if buying a trailer was like buying a car/truck with all the going back and forth. I bought my FS3000 new 7 years ago but didn't haggle because they were 1k cheaper than GiantRV and they threw in a few more options for free and the 7 year warranty for free too so I felt I got a good deal. But I was also green too. Who knows, maybe I could have saved more
You guys are awesome for helping a newbie on RV.net out. I appreciate it very much. Now I can play with a full deck.

I just bought my '08 le3505 about a month and a half ago. I got a flat 25% off of MSRP, and had the dealer throw in my Reese hitch with install. I figured that was a pretty good deal. I had that deal negotiated with Giant RV, but when I went to pull the trigger and purchase from them, the manager (Shawn) said there was no way he could sell at that price. I had a Giant RV letterhead that quoted exactly what I was told. He still would not honor it. Luckily I found that a local dealer sold WW and they ended up matching the sheet I got from Giant!! I feel much better about being able to buy locally. I guess it was a blessing in disguise!

It should be a LOT cheaper now that Weekend Warrior is pretty much Out Of Business and you will have no warranty at this point. You should get a great price if you don't mind buying it AS IS. Hopefully someone will buy up what's left of WW and they will survive but it doesn't look good right now.

ntenufsun and kopfjaeger. I think you guys need to do a little more reading here about the state WW is in. Be prepared like SAS said to handle your our warranty work. And as far as what off MSRP you should get, between 25%-30%. If you really are going to buy a WW, I would make sure that it's the DEAL OF THE MILLENNIUM.

I got my 08 LE3505 Billet edition along with the slider hitch and wiring installed into the Dodge out the door for just under 43K. The only issue I have had with it after about 15 dune trips is the thermal fuse went out on me one night. Not a big deal at all! Absolutely love it...thankfully no warranty work needed though. Do your homework before any WW purchases. I have been very lucky with mine. Some on this board have not.
