I for one could not see living in my TT.

LOL!! We live on a lake. Yes, it's wonderful, sort of like camping - but at least when we're RVing, I don't have to mow/weed/clean boats/feed a gang of visitors, etc. RVing is much more relaxing!!!

We have thought about this often. A few reasons we figure this is so is this the TT was bought new, so we keep it that way. The TT is smaller and easier to keep perfectly clean and organized. Also the TT is fun to work on and modify to our liking. The TT is recreational the house is not (usually) .
Its fun...kind of like the clubhouse was when we were kids.

When we bought our fifth wheel I bought all new cooking ware, Pots Pans, silverware ect. DW did the same for the bed and bath area, all new linens, towels, pillows etc. Flat screen tv and much more. We still camp in many of the same places we did 40 years ago. Kinda neat to be there and reminese about when we were there in a 10 X 16 tent with three kids, 2 dogs using old wore out cooking equipt. Cooking over a fire and with a pump up stove. Bedding was old blankets over a pine needle mattress. Both were great times. but at this stage in my life I don't want to go back.

I thought it was me and my family thought I was crazy. about a year or so I came back from a camping trip and I realized I sleep better when I was in my MH, then I thought oh wel it is because I was away from work and all. So when I got back to my sons place I said do you mind if I stay out in the MH? I want to see if I sleep better he said OK and a few weeks later I moved from my house to the MH and am still sleeping better. In the house I would be up all hours of the night, now I sleep like a baby.I have never been sory and when I go camping I never forget anything at home.

The kids get along great - they eat better and we have so much more fun....I think part of it is because since we are in such a closed space, everyone knows they have to get along.
Reminds me of that old song "Love grows best in a small house" - I sometimes wonder if we should downsize - then we have even more funds to camp!!
And yes - I like my bedding SO MUCH MORE in the trailer and I like cleaning it - mostly because it takes me about 20 minutes versus ALL OF MONDAY for my house

I have to agree with most of the other responses. We too, seem to eat better. I know that I cook like we are going to entertain company, even though it may be just the two of us. Also, I don't know why, but I feel free to offer extra food to neighbors that are sitting outside their motorhomes. We end up feeding and visiting with people we just met. It is just a different atmosphere where we feel more comfortable to share. I cannot explain the psychology behind it, but I do know that @ home or in the area of which we work, there is more of a feeling of mistrust. For us, RVing gives the feeling of freedom and a get-away from some reality.
