Hi,
New to the board, have been reading and learning a lot since I found it!
We are looking to purchase a used TT in the 30' range to park on site and leave it there year round (no towing). We were told by the campground owner that 32' is the absolute max for our site. We have two kids (age 4 and 6) so would really like a bunkhouse with an actual door to close, as opposed to a cloth curtain to pull across.
We found a 2003 Jayco Jayflight 31BHS today for a price within our budget and I'm wondering if anyone here has (or had) that model and can offer feedback? My concern with this floor plan is the bunks located right next to the bathroom with no real way to keep the noise level down going in and out while the kids are sleeping.
I've also looked at a 2006 Crossroads Zinger 320 QB which had the quad bunk room with separate door that I liked but the asking price is a bit out of our range. Any feedback on that model?
We are brand new to the world of TTs so my knowledge is limited to what I've been reading online. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Find out how long that 31 bhs actually is. I think it is more in the 33-34 foot range for total length. I own an 07 jayflight 29 bhs and love it! I wanted the 31 but it was too heavy for my half ton pickup to pull. We "settled" on the 29 and it has fit the bill perfectly with three children and the bunks. The 29 BHS is actually 31.5 feet long.

We purchased our 31BHS this year, and it is currently parked at our seasonal site. Overall we have been very happy with it, and I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. Jayco lists the length at 32 1/2 feet long, and I would just confirm this would be allowed on your site.
As far as the bathroom location, it really hasn't been a issue. Almost all the 4-bunk models will have the bathroom located next to the bunkhouse.

We have the 31BHDS parked on our seasonal site. Our bathroom is right next to the bunk room aswell. The bedroom is divided by an accordian door which we don't use unless the kids have friends over and at that just for changing clothes. I'm yet to wake up a child/teen from going to the bathroom during sleeping hours and when they wake to go they don't disturb each other either. Remember this is camping. The majority of your days will be spent in the fresh air. They sleep much sounder then at home.
Welcome to the forum!
All the best,
Jennifer

I'm wondering where you're finding the length as 32 1/2 feet? Looking at the Jayco website archives, it lists the exterior length at 31'8". Or is this another case of measurements sometimes only include the "box" (trailer) and not the hitch, etc?

moosemomma,
I can believe over 32' for the 31BHS.
Whiile the following link is for 2008 versions...and the 2003 can certainly be shorter...where did you find the archives?...I'd be interested in that link!
My 31BHDS lists at nearly 34' ball to bumper!!!...
So you should check with the park owner as to what they mean and how they calculate length. Some go by 'box' and some go by overall length.
When I add my Hensley and bike rack into the mix my 33'11" length goes to over 38'
So only the park owner can clarify to you. But the link above clearly shows 32' 6"
Good luck,
joe.

JHUCK,
THANKS!!!...Learned something today! All the times I've hit that site...I NEVER noticed that little 'product archive' link!
Appreciate your info and help!...
So the OP seems to be right on the money with the 31'8" for the 2003!

After looking at the archive link, noticed that a 2003 31BHS is not the same floor plan as my model and explains the difference in length.
Looks like I also learned something new today.

I just bought a new Jayco 29 FBS. It is listed at 32.5 ft. The important thing for us was the bunk room has a door and room for TV, and clothes for the kids.
