So....here goes I seen a few of those cables and sometimes chains to keep the large toy hauler door level when opened for like a patio area and also seen jacks underneath.I not sure what kind of hardware to use either or how is mounted. Pictures??
Your thoughts?

Get some galvanzed flanges and 2" pipe about the same length as the distance from the hinges to the ground to screw into them. Screw the flanges to the top of the door. When you want a patio screw the pipes into the flanges and level it with blocks. You might also want to carry a couple of shorter pipes inn case the ground slopes up.

I did this.
Sometimes it's hard to use the jacks.

Just wondaering why you have the same question posted twice?

I'm in the process of getting a enclosure to turn our ramp into a room. Since we have alot of tiedowns for the M/C's I'm gonna weld a couple U bolts inside the frame of the door and some onthe gate. I figure 2 1200 lb tiedowms on each side will be plenty and cheap.

I use the cables. They won't settle into the ground or ever need to be leveled once they are installed. I can have my patio up in about 2-minutes or less. Different trailers have different ramps but installing mine was a snap and we have used it many times with no ill effects on the trailer.

The cable option is a better way to go I think, ya never know what type of ground conditions you'll be park in. The cables will always work.

Wanted to revive this thread to get an update from those who have installed the cables. Have you noticed any issues, i.e. twisting of the door, pulling of the bolts through the mounting holes?
Thinking of going this route. Just don't want to cause long term damage.
