Anyone else have there FM antenna come loose from the roof? it feels like the screws pulled out of the roof structure on our 08' Keystone Cougar. I was told i can scrape off the silicone sealer, rotate the antenna base about 90 deg and screw it back down and re seal the roof. Is it that simple? Anything else I need to know?

Why dont TT Manufactures use short rubber ducky antennas instead of the long chrome one that on mine is already rusting. I was thinking of trying to find one since I will have to open up the roof.

Happened to me too.

Do NOT use silicone on the roof! LEAK, LEAK, LEAK!

Re-screw the antenna down and reseal it with Dicor self leveling caulk completely covering the base of the antenna.

I would take it to the dealer for warranty, but the dealer I bought it from is 2 hours each way. 1-$8.00 of dicor is cheaper then the gas I would spen there and back. It should be a quick easy fix. I am going to look for a small rubber ducky style ant tho. The big chrome one thats has puuled from the roof is already rusty.

This happened to me. The plastic antenna mount had disentigrated and pulled loose where it had been screwed to the wood. I cut a piece of metal with a hole in the center and screwed it down real good to the wood with the antenna securely mounted in the center. Of course I removed all the old caulk and re covered everything.

hey all

Just my .02 I would get rid of it all together and seal up the hole forever.
I would also get an indoor power antenna... you could mount this in the closet or somewhere hidden. this is what I have and I don't have to worry about rust or leaks

You are aware that the filon, foam, luan sandwich used in a lot of RV walls and roofs also contains a very thin sheet of aluminum??? I discovered this when drilling holes for 12v power connectors on my rig. How about the rigs with aluminum siding?

Reception isn't very good inside a metal box, that's why they put the antenna on the outside to begin with. It's not like using an indoor antenna in your all wood house.

my antenna came loose at the swivel joint. I don't need any stereo noise so I didn't replace it.
