I just arrive in Pahrump nv. from Kalispell Mt. When I
extended my Kitchen Slide out I Observed that the molding on the top part of the slide out wall was worn down about a 1/3 of its thickness.
The worn strip was about 6 inches long. I also notice some wear on the
slide out at the same location. Their was no problem on the right side of the slide out. Has anybody had this problem?

When we got our 5ver, one thing we checked out is how to take care of the slide out.
We found out that you never close it without cleaning off the top of it.
I bought and carry an extend able pole and screw own broom and a ladder.
Every time I close my slide out, I sweep off the top of it before I close it.

What we were told is that it only takes one branch or a bunch of leaves or such to mess up the seal around the slide out. It made sense to me... so now I clean it off first... then close it.

I was also told the seal could be repaired if it got damaged. I have not checked on what cost that might be.

Yes, our Alfa had to have the seals and mouldings replaced. You can purchase it at any rv dealer.

Sounds like the slide box itself is miss aligned so it's going in and out at a slight angle causing the rubbing. I'd have an experienced tech readjust the slideout for proper clearance and travel.

Is the molding you are referring to the rubber gasket on the exterior portion of the slide? If so I would take it in and have it looked at by your service tech. I own a Cameo as well and mine is starting to show wear as well, but I would expect this due to its age. Your's on the other hand is still within the warranty time line so take it in and have them repair it.

I had this happen to my Fifth wheel. The Slide seals had colapsed on the lower portion of the slides allowing metal on metal contact which resulted in wear. I had the RV dealer replace the seals as well as the damaged metal on the slides (It had worn through)

Your slide needs to be readjusted. It's a 30 minute job for your dealer and is covered by Carriage's warranty. Your dealer should replace the trim when he is done if it is damaged.
