The only real benefit to this plug is having more contact surface on the male side so that in itself would make it a plus for me.

Same here. We don't plug in, but we keep one for visitors who do. No more hot outlet.

Isn't the orientation of the plug wrong to plug into a Honda --too lazy to walk out and look at mine.

The orientation? I don't have to look to know that you would never have a duplex outlet with both grounds toward each other or both grounds away from each other. This is standard configuration, there are no other configurations for 15A duplex outlets.

Yes it will work on hondas.I have seen other(cheaper)generators with the outlets ground posts pointing up so the adapter would not work.

I have one, and on the back it says it is rated for 15 amps, and your honda has 20 amp outlets, so I would find a adaptor rated for 20 amps with the 20 amp male end.

Those prices on Amazon are rediculous. I bought one from my local RV store for $9.50. They are in the large catalog that most RV stores hand out. 15 amps is all you really get out of the Honda 2000.

And pray tell why wouldn't the adapter work with the ground on the upper end?
