Edit: I'm wondering if a gas station would be "looser" with their own brand's card
They are looser with their own cards. I have a 76 card and it will let me pump till I reach my credit limit which is a lot of fuel!

I kind of thought they might be. I guess I'll stop trashing their solicitations.
Thanks, Rick......

Gas card shutoffs are one of the few things that really irritate me.
I tried pushing the pay inside button- they still stopped the card at $50. I offered them to hold my card while I filled up- no luck.
This past Monday I filled up at Krogers for the winter nap. Even tho I used the Kroger's "membership" card, the pump shut off.
Oh well, by next spring we'll only get 25-30 gallons for our $100.

My co-worker was so proud that he had pumped just the right amount of gas to equal $75.00 exactly on three different occasions.

Slightly off topic - last summer while travelling to Texas, Discover Card Fraud alert called our home phone to check on the charges we had put on the card. Our son got the message and contacted us in Texas. When I called Discover back, they just wanted to verify that the charges were legit. I said thank you.

If that's not possible, use the phone or intercom to ask for them to override the limits. If neither are available, just go inside or to the window. The limits are not set by the card but rather the station's home office. Sometimes a M/C will have a higher limit than a Visa, too for whatever reason.
I ran into limits of $48 and $50 at Travel America stations in Louisiana and Mississippi last week in their "RV" lane. I have never had this problem at Flying J.
