Quote: We have a 04 HEMI Durango, and tow a single axle boat trailer with a heavy tongue. It sets level, but whoops in the rear over uneven pavement. Pisses-off oncoming traffic at night. Pisses-off the driver all the time.
I've considered adding timbrins or bump-stops to the rear. Even posted here about it one time...expect for one guy with a Nissan, I didn't get very helpful responses.
It sounds like factory sucky shocks! I'd get a set of Bilsteins...AND I'm a Titan guy also!

I`ve yet to see a Durango with a V-6! they`re so little of them made with the V-6, I forgot they were standard even if they are/were standard less than 5% will have them. Oh wait the V-6 is only available in 2wd. we don`t see many of them in this area. and I don`t sell them I just fix them. doesn`t change the fact that the OP`s Durango will have at least the 4.7! and will still be very capable of towing the TT he has in mind.

Do you know the OP? How is it "fact" that his Durango will have at least a 4.7L motor in it? If you have to say "at least" then you don't know and it's not fact.

Not a very good "dodge guy" if you didn't know the Durango could come with a V6.
We won't stone him just yet

Yes I believe the factory shocks are not the greatest. Bilstein does not make a shock for the Durango though. I went with KYB as they are high pressure shocks which are better for normal driving conditions. The Ranchos and such are low pressure design and are better for off-road driving. AT least from what I understand.

i have the 4.7 AWD model with a 26RS and the equilizer set up. it tows fine! i do have a little more bounce, but it is heavier than my 24' trailer we replaced. this is also towing with 5 folks and a dog, fully loaded. when the current tires are in need of replacement, i will go with a "C" rated tire and heavier shocks.
