Perhaps I didn't post the original question in the right forum, it doesn't show up as a new thread. Anyway my question was why is there no mention of installing electric brakes on the back of a dinghy. One reply was that there was a system being developed that would work electronically to apply the brakes. The antilock brakes would be a problem but it should be possible. Any thoughts?
If you could design and build a brake system that would be sold for less than the current auxiliary brake systems on the market. It would be a good idea. Must be easy to install.
I do not think it can be done.

I don't think any vehicle manufacturer would allow it due to legal reasons.

I was thinking an Electric Disc Brake attached between the Driveshaft and the differential ,sort of an Electric E Brake would work! It just needs to Help to Slow the vehicle and/or bring it to a Safe Slow stop in the event of a disconnect!
I'm thinking I might do a little Tinkering in My Next Workshop!
