We go there often. As far as I know there is no water around there however you can call the Blue Inn and see if they will allow it. As for riding any loop that passes Pumpkin Patch and Gas Dome are great rides with lots of variety. We always camp west of Cuhalla Trail just north off Gas Dome road up against the hills. You can do just about everything just in that area including getting lost so keep everyone together.
You will enjoy it, just check the weather and be sure it's not windy

The OW SVRA web page doesn't have much detail about things like water. It has some route info.
There is water at Tamarisk Grove campground, at the Yaqui Pass turnoff on the way to OW. Call Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to see if they will allow you to fill there.

There's a RV campground west of the ranger station that you can get water at and dump for a fee. Off Hwy 78 south side. West of airport. You can Google Earth it and get a better perspective of where it's at.
We've been only once and are going back this TG. We stayed at Holm's Camp. The have 2 tree lines with RV spaces with canopys. They also have toilet and showers. Pretty popular spot though.
Also do a web search and you can find a map of the OHV area showing where all the accesses are as well as the Ranger Station. Think desertusa.com has a map of it.
from calabasas, i would take the 210 to 15 south. exit 15 to 79 south in southern temecula. drive to S-2 (san felipe road) and turn left. there is an electrical substation on the sw side for a visual marker. there is also a nice place to pull over at the intersection for a break. take S-2 to 78, turn left, and about an half an hour, you're there!
the party people camp near blowsand and pole line road. we camp in a quiet spot in imperial county, north of the 78 where the kids can ride in relatively safety. they blade all the roads before the season, so you can camp anywhere you want. i've seen motorhomes in the middle of the park!
i would check out shell reef (ocean shells that are common to the caribbean), devil's slide, gas dome and pumpkin patch (you have to see to believe). like i said, the roads are bladed, so beginners on bikes and quads will have no problem getting to these spots. also pole line is known for filming extreme jumping videos. every time we are there, someone is doing crazy stunts!!
ocotillo wells is close to sea level for jetting your rides. temps are cold at night, mid 40's to the 70's during the day, just right! make sure your rides have off road stickies, the rangers might come into your camp to check them.
we paid for this park, so enjoy it!

There is a trailer park on the south side of 78 called Desert Iron Woods. They have water, a small store and a dump station for a fee. Not sure what they charge for water. There is definitely no water available at the Ranger Station. They do have great maps available there, be sure to go by an pick one up.
