We have been to Hard Labor Creek. We stayed in the equestrian side of the park and liked it. I didn't think much of the regular side. Too spread out and way too many camp sites. Just my opinion though.

DW and I made the mistake of going to Hard Labor one week end without reservations, and they let us stay in the equestrian (horse park, for many folks) side, because the main park was full. Really nice though. Last night we were there, we were the ONLY ones there. Kind of creepy, but still nice. Had some deer walk nearly into the campsite. I agree about it being spread out, and not really a good "walk to" set up. I sort of like the previous suggestion of Little Ocmulgee, or maybe Reed Bingham. I think both are similar in layouts, easy walking from any point to another.

EZRIDER: YEP, you got it! If they even know WHERE Conyers IS, that should be qualification enough! I don't know how many times I tell people where I live and end up rephrasing it to be "about 1/2 hour east of Atlanta".

Little Ocmulgee looks fine to me and I have heard Reed Bingham, as EC suggested, is very nice as well. Both have my kind of sites: Big and Flat. Bud

Looks like 4 positive comments about Little Ocmulgee. That seems like enough to make a decision.

I guess I also need to put a positive vote in for little Ocmulgee. Junnie and I go there several times a year. It is a nice park and the campground meeting facilities are great.

Just got back from Thanksgiving in Asheville, NC (BEAUTIFUL!)... toured the Biltmore and enjoyed some frosty weather to get us in the holiday spirit!

We're still on the fence about the Winter Rally..and Little Ocmulgee is too far for us for just a two-nighter...being that we're north of Atlanta we have to easily tack on an extra hour to the usual drive times just to get through the city, so that's beyond our driving limits for just a weekend...and Twin Oaks is pushing it too, for that matter.

How about the new and improved High Falls? They've made improvements to some of their loops, put in new bath houses, etc.

Or Indian Springs...

Just throwing out some other ideas...

I saw where ya'll had posted that you would be at AH Stephens this weekend, still trying to talk DH into it. He (we) love AH Stephens because it is close to us and a nice small campground with all level sites. We need to repair some fencing at our house, (the little spoiled rotten poodle keeps getting out), so I dont know if my DH will go for camping instead of fixing the fence----I go for camping anyday over working.

But he said then next week I will be fussing because the dog is getting out & might get run over!! But, we will see I am still working on it!!!

Well looks like we are going to miss the winter rally due to DD concerts (when she tours we all tour ). In regards to the spring rally Little Ocmulgee is a little to far for us as well. Getting off work Friday afternoons and then facing a 2-3 hour drive for what will turn out to be really 1 day at the campground is a bit much for us.

You guys have fun at the winter rally and I will stay looking for details of the spring one

Come on over if you can!! We should arrive Friday around 3 pm. Hope to get a space on back side of loop, around 16-20. Wildcat 5th wheel.
