We are getting ready to purchase our 2nd Jayco, only to hear a rumor that the producers of the RVQ are quitting the business. Anybody out there hear the samething? We enjoyed the RVQ with the first Jayco, but when the kids grew up and the bunks were no longer needed we started looking for a new unit. Due to the lack of counter space in the '06 Jayco's we purchased from the competition, only to trade it in 8 months later for an '08 model with the same no counter floorplan just to get back to a trusted and well built unit. But am concerned about part availability (should the need arise) with RVQ.

The actual comany that makes the RVQ was a bear to get parts from anyways and the design itself is marginal at best considering it's a few hundred dollar "option" tacked onto your RV MSRP.
I tried to order a piece when my brand new RVQ out the box had a weld faliure on the holding bracket. It took 3 phone calls and several messages to get a impatient response from a woman who didn't seem to care one bit.

My first trailer had an RVQ. My second one didn't, so I got a much better portable gas grill from Lowe's for $39 that cooks much better. Not trying to talk you out of getting one, but rather just let you know there are good alternatives.

the RVQ seems like a poor concept to me. why do you want your grill "locked" to the side of your RV? grease, heat, smoke under patio awning. can't move it so smoke doesn't blow in windows, etc.
and from what I read, the grill itself is inferior to much cheaper ones.

Used ours once, then cleaned it back up and stuck it in the bag it came with, now sitting on shelf in garage. Weber makes a far superior grill for quite a bit less money. Never liked a gas fired grill hanging on the side of the trailer so close to the fiberglass sidewalls and under the awning. Poor product, poor engineering. Plus heat output too low for grilling.

We ended up getting a Thermos Grill-2-go. This is similar to the Coleman, Weber, etc portable propane "griddle" type grills. It is 100% better than the RVQue. I thought the RVQue was good, until my wife pointed out that to cook a steak would take an hour (or more), hamburgers make a mess (and take forever also to cook), and in general we just had a hard time with it. Now that I have the portable grill, when I look back I just didn't realize how much work and grief it was to use the RVQue.

Funny thing, I like mine.
This is my first Jayco and first RVQ. mine is not under a awning but at the back corner behind a slide. This location helps with wind and no smoke gets in the camper.
Mine seems to cook great and the hookup to the trailer gas is a snap. Never worry about hauling charcoal or lighter stuff or those small propane bottles. Just hook the hose to the trailer quick disconnect propane line right there and your ready to cook.
Clean up is easy because of the grease tray. Just slide it out and clean and your done.
Now mine came with a 2008 Jayco Designer so could it be a newer better design than in the past?
Anyway, we like ours better than anything we have used when camping. Tex

Vitco made it and is now defunct, finished, kaput, gone. I did manage to buy the needed mounting bracket from Camping World tho. I've never had any smoke/grease etc problems while hanging on the side of my trailers and it cooks well in my opinion. I did change it over to another regulator and a five lb tank. Plenty of heat. Unit is about 4 years or so old. I'm happy. JMHO

Thought about it,but after my experince with Vitco after I purchased a HUMMER grill, I decieded no way!
Sold the Hummer Grill, got a Grill2Go Advantage, Replumbed to connect to trailer RVQ connection or 20lb cylinder and works fantastic. No complaints at all.

We purchased a new Jayco in June of this year. Did not like the concept of the RVQ so we purchased the propane adapter ($4) that the Jayco dealer sells. It allowed us to put together a propane hose that's 20' and to use a free standing gas grill (we chose the Patio Caddie; we have another like it at home and use it 5 times a week-works great!) After removing the regulator from the BBQ, the hose quick-connects into the propane inlet of the Jayco. Being here in California, we grill almost every night we camp...works great.
