She's in the shop now. I will let you know, I think you might be right though about that fan.
Curious about what you are having done to your SN6400 in the shop, can you update us on that?
Two repairs...when we purchased the coach it had a hair line crack in the fiberglass cab-over (about 3 inches long above the passenger door). GS is repairing and repainting. The second repair is on the hitch...it bent. On our way to AZ over the New Year holiday the hitch bent while towing our 8K lbs trailer??? The trailer tongue wieght is 7-900 lbs and the hitch is rated at 1,500 lbs. Thank God I have a great dealer...
What do you mean it BENT??? That concerns me... Where did it bend? It is a 15000lb, 1500lb tongue hitch, correct?

The 15K lbs hidden hitch bent down nearly 4 inches. It appears that the round support bar bent at the curve of the bar. Not good!

We beefed up our hitch. Added a 4" square steel tube starting at the frame extension point and tied the 2 C channels together and then ran a 4" steel tube back to the hitch with gussets at all the intersecting points. We also added a load leveling hitch. We were not comfortable with the frame extensions and wanted to add additional support.

We are being told by International that they ran diagnostics on our engine and the overheating we experienced w/ the engine light coming on did not produce a computer code indicating that there was a problem. They are not sure what the problem is now and are saying until the computer shows a code they do not know what the problem is. How did they diagnose your problem? Did your engine show a code indicating the problem? We are not satisfied with "can't find the problem" we don't want to be on another trip and have this happen again.

T0951,
Although I have not had overheating problems and my clutch fan works well, I did have an instance where the engine light came on and went off without leaving a problem code in the ECM. I had this occur when I had a Kodiak diesel chassis also. I think sometimes you get ghost engine light flashes as the ECM goes through its normal diagnostics. However, they should have been able to diagnose a problem with your fan clutch without having a code. The last time I had my coach in to International working on the fuel system, they test drove my coach for over 70 miles to diagnose any problems I might have. One thing the code did show was a defective glow plug sensor. It was hard to start when cold and it turned out the sensor was bad. They replaced it along with my fuel tank pickup tubes (original were too short) under warranty. It sure sounds like to me you have a problem with your fan clutch.

No code was left on the ECM. The dealer manually tested the viscous motor by running it at high RPM and once the heat reached 200 degrees nothing happened...my vicous motor didn't have a drop of oil in it...it burnt out.

T0951 wrote: Another problem, the levelers, sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't, they would go down and not come up or they would not go down. We called our dealer and he faxed us directions on how to override the system, but it is still a problem we need to address.
Update! Today we received in the mail a letter from Gulf Stream stating that there is a voluntary product inspection and update from Power Gear (the leveling system supplier) the electric jacks that were installed on the coach are being update to a new higher level of water resistance concerning the motor brake. We are to go to a Gulf Stream Certified Service Center for the upgrade.
Also included with the letter is a "Troubleshooting Guide", outlining how to get out of "Error" mode, the exact same problem we were having on our trip. It was either raining or snowing on several occasions when we were trying to use the leveling system.
We will add this to the list of things to be looked at when we take our SN6400 into our Gulf Stream dealer. The SN6400 is still at International, they are trying to still figure out why it was overheating.
