How cold before removing batteries from a stored unit? Like the boat or a truck your not going to use for the winter.

TIA.

safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting "Wow, what a ride!".

Hard to say how cold, but the big issue is keeping the batteries charged. They will freeze if they are discharged.

Fully charged batteries can last just fine at 20 below. However, if they are not kept charged they can freeze and that will likely crack your case and spill acid. I store my RV in a place where I can keep the Battery-Minder on the batteries all winter long - no problems with really cold weather. However, before I had electricity, I would bring the batteries inside the house.

As mentioned above, store fully charged or they could freeze. Good luck.

Charged Battery Freezes at MINUS 92 degrees F per Trojan. I just keep mine charged.
