I really expected it to "grunt" a little more then it does. Granted I'm not in the mountains of Colorado yet, but I feel much better about the combination. My DW even got on the phone with her father boasting about the truck !!!
The super springs I installed work great, and I don't get the bounce effect I remember getting with Air Bags. The dealer even checked out the springs and is considering stocking them!

Congrats Cruz and I hope you and the wife enjoy it!
Thought I would update all of you on our Designer:
The short version is that even before we signed our purchase agreement back in late September ourselves and the dealer verbally agreed to try and sell our existing fifth wheel together and if it doesn't sell the worse case would be that the dealer would take the trade-in for the amount of debt outstanding with us owing nothing on the old fiver.
As you remember our new Designer came in on 11/19 and I obtained financing that same day for the purchase. Went to the dealer to get the trade-in squared away and found out that they were backing out of taking our trade-in for the amount of the loan outstanding which threw everything into a frenzy. They made different excuses as to why when they actually fessed up to it...yada, yada, yada
Anyways I was ?>&*$#! (although the wife was more calm) as I was not going to have 2 loans at once and take the chance of the old fiver not selling...fast forward to today...last night we (or should I say wife) agreed (I agreed begrudgingly) that we would give the dealership (with our help) one month to sell our old fiver or I am waking away from the deal with our deposit (I wanted to walk away last night but...)
I don't hold out much hope that all this is going to work out and we'll be back to square one again but it's better than what's going on now...I've lost faith in this dealership and I doubt it will ever come back...even if things do work out why would I ever do business with this dealership again???
What started out as our dream trailer that we would eventually, someday full-time in has turned in to this...I'll keep you all informed if you like...
Yeeeeouch! Sorry to read that, M GO BLUE. I hope your old rig sells and everything works out okay. I can only imagine what you're feeling now. It's hard to believe the dealer would do that! Who was the dealer? And who's the dealer in Des Moines, Cruz? The Designer (RLSA) is on our finals list... for next summer.
Eric ... sorry to hear about the "temporary" set back. Things will work out ... just keep us informed.
We are in Albq tonight ... lost the trailer brakes coming into town, fortunatley the Prodigy brake control warned us before we "needed" the brakes! made it into camp and, after some looking around, I found two wires had rubbed against the left rear brake drum clean thru ... Hopeful to get these repaired and back on the road quickly in the morning !!??
NEWK - the dealer I bought from was RV Direct on-line. (www.rvdirect.com) They happen to own Des Moines RV, who specializes in the Jayco product. Des Moines was a lot closer to Arizona then Albany or Buffalo ... so that's where I chose to pick it up at.!!
Folks, I have to tell you. I am totally impressed with how this 5'er pulls. Thru wind ... terrible road surfaces ... city traffic. My wife has actually been able to sleep thru most of it !! And SHE was more nervous than I was !!
When Trucks go by ... it holds the road with no issues !!
