Good Day everyone-
As we all know, the holiday gift season is now upon us. And this year I would like to get my wife (well, family actually, we all tend to cook when so moved!) a nice spice rack or holder or dispenser. I have a beautiful one we bought at Silver Dollar City many years ago, but alas, there is no where to hang it in our present home. A wall mount will not work. It will need to be a counter unit, or one that can fit into an upper cabinet. She really needs something to help get organized with the spices and condiments of recipes.
Thanks for any shopping suggestions!

We made one out of oak, stained to match cabinetry and sized to fit the space between a top cabinet and the counter top. I am not a gourmet cook so mine is only about 12" wide but you can make it to fit the need +/or space available.
See ya' down the road!

We bought spice bottle holders (at CW?) that attach to the inside of cabinet doors with double stick tape. They work great, keep spices in the dark, and don't take up wall or counter space.
They are white plastic (not beautiful, but concealed), and are adjustable for different sized bottles.

Try Amazon.com, they have every possible kind of spice rack. I found what I needed there just recently.

It's best to store your herbs and spices away from light and heat. I keep mine in a plastic bin in a drawer, with the names written on the lids. I've also had a neat spice rack that fit inside a cupboard door, so it was out of the way but still easy to access.

How about an under the cabinet spice rack. Hometrends, a catalog company I occasionally order from, has one Under the Cabinet Spice rack
Bed Bath & Beyond has several countertop spinning spice racks that are compact, hold a lot of spices, but don't take up too much space. Check them out at Counter Top Spinning Spice Rack
Happy shopping! Let us know what you decide on.

I keep my spices in a plastic shoe box. Easy to store almost anywhere in the trailer and easy to take outside for outdoor cooking.

I have a nice wall mount spice rack, but, it required transferring the spices from their containers to those of the spice rack (and I'm basically lazy). At present mine are on 3 small shelves in a cabinet with the most often used on the bottom shelf and 'specialty' stuff on top (extracts, etc.). As this arrangement didn't work at all well when I broke my leg, I ended up getting a two tier carosel/lazy susan for the countertop so I could reach the spices while disabled. I'm almost to the point of clearing off the counter again and have a few pieces of plywood that I've used a hole saw on and will attach it to the inside of the cabinet door with spacers (thread spools work very well).
While this might not be ritsy/glitzy (of course you can customize this and decorate it) thought I'd share it.

After looking at several available racks at web sites (amazon.com was one of those) I have decided that one of those Plano tackle boxes like paramedic's carry, or that really neat tool box the repair man had in Toy Story when he came to fix up Woody to make Woody new again is what I need! Remember how that thing just kept opening up and had all kinds of compartments in it!
I believe what I would like does not exist. Something to hold all the spices, as well as the little bottles of extracts we have, in one place, out of site so it does not clutter, but available when needed. Looking at some of the under-the-upper-cabinet drop downs have a great idea, but most are rated as plastic junk. A nice well built wooden unit does not exist.
I even checked out Martha Stewart's site and she much not use many spices, as she had an 8 and 12 bottle one. Yeah, right. Try 48 to 60 needed when you add the extracts.
I continue my search...
