Our son just accepted the Groundskeeper position with the Peoria Chiefs and we would like to visit him next summer. We prefer State Park type campgrounds (w/ electricity & a shower house) and some vegetation between sites. We’ve looked at Jubilee College State Park, but hard to tell what it’s like from the various web sites. I guess we have a little time to find something, so any help from those of you familiar with this area would be greatly appreciated.
There is a city RV park in East Peoria along the river. It is nothing special, but is a decent park with full hook ups and all the necessities. Do not know about Jubilee. I do know that RV parks in / around the Peoria area are extremely limited. A little farther away, there is a large RV park in a country setting a little South of Morton off I-155.

We have a son who lives in Peoria and we stayed at Jubilee College State Park this September. As you can see from the picture, the campground is fairly open. There are some sites against the woods, but I didn't see any sites in the woods. It was a nice enough campground. We had electric only at campsite B6. We didn't checkout the bath house.
Jubilee is a very good campground. You can bike around it or hike it. There is a museum north of Peoria, I think the Railroad one that is a neat place to go see.
Thanks for all the info! It's great to know if anyone has a question about camping or RVing, YOU folks take the time to answer. Thanks for the pic Mike.
