I haven't had a problem winterizing before but it's not working this year. I'm trying to fill the fresh water holding tank but the antifreeze just runs back out after pouring about a pint in. I've drained all the water out.

Any ideas?

Try turning on your water pump and opening one of your faucets and see if the pink comes out.

Did you close the drain on your fresh water tank? Some times they stick open so check it.

Look to see if the hose inside has kinked or collapsed. It almost has to be an issue with that inlet hose.

I'm betting...that yours is just like mine...The filler hose runs parallel to the floor about 12" before it drops into the tank...so without any real pressure behind it, the AF starts backing up before it even gets a chance to run into the tank. I discovered this problem when i try to pour some bleach water in...

Try taking a long length of tubing (2-3') the same size as what you use on your fill attachment and thread it into the the fill line as far as you can get it and then put the open end on to a funnel... Then pour the antifreeze into the funnel... If you can get to the water pump easily, a better method is to install a quick winterizing valve... If not that you could remove the tubing from the water pump inlet and attach a temporary piece of tubing that would be inserted right into the gallon of antifreeze...

similar to what LAdams just said...piece of hose fed into the filler..enough to reach the drop down into tank and a funnel.

But if your tank is drained do want AF into the tank...Use LAdams idea of winterizing valve at the water pump. Its what i did and REAL easy to do...

OK, thanks for the suggestions. It's going to have to be a piece of hose and funnel method by standing on a ladder so as to hold the hose up high enough. the winterizing valve at the water pump sounds like a great solution but the pump is not that easy to get to.

My question is why are you putting it in your water Tank? Does your TT have a by pass the pump? if not I would add one they are simple to install and cost very little. This way you simply flip a valve on the pump insert the pickup hose that is attached to teh pump and stick in the anti-freeze jug trun onthe pump and open you facuets and your done. My problem with putting it in your fresh water tank is its very hard to get rid of it all when you unwinterize.
