Fri night We turned the heater on about 7 PM and it heated the T H up to 65*, Went to bed around 11 PM (I know thats early but I was up and on the road @ 5AM)
Woke up to dispose of some beer @ 2:30 AM and it was a bit chilly, 52*
Turned off the t-stat and waited a few minutes then back on, cold air for about 30 seconds and then it shuts off, repeated the off then on routine several times same results. Went back to sleep and woke up to 42* inside around 8. Turned it off again, disposed of some more beer, came out and thought, try it one more time, it worked this time and for the rest of the weekend. I am lost as to what happened, Fridge was on propane and working, water heater was on and working, stove and oven lit off normally, both propane tanks were full, so I dought it was a supply problem.
Any Ideas as to what went wrong??
We have a digital t-stat and it has never given Us any problems, the old stock t-stat was nothing but a headache, but it was just the opposite, it would turn on and NOT turn off unless you manually switched it off.
I did change the batteries in the T-stat Saturday night before we went to bed, but it worked sat AM with the old batteries.

Thanks

Were you on 120 volt power or running on the batteries? If the batteries were low enough that they didn't spin the blower fast enough the sale valve would keep the furnace from lighting. Fridge and hot water heater will both operate down to around 10.5 volts usually but the furnace takes more power. Good luck / Skip

On 12 volts, the blower seemed like it was blowing normal, just cold.
Running 2 6V batts, the monitor showed they were fully charged.
I have had problems once with the heater not working with the 2 old 12V batts when they were low, but that only happened after a very chilly night (22* outside) and the heater ran most of the night, killing the batteries enough that the genny would not start.
Thanks

When it fails again check the circuit board for flashing light diagnostics. You'll have to remove the outdoor cover to see it and check your owner's manual for the code. Mine was running, then shutting off on high limit and that's what the code was. Sounds like the airflow switch might not be working right. Since the fan comes on but no burner the "brain" might not be sensing air flow and shuts off the system before the burner lights. It eventually started working because the switch freed up, just a thought.

I have the same problem! Except I have no outer door, mine has to be removed from the inside. Keep the ideas coming!

WoW interesting to hear so many people having the same issue, we had the same problem the night before Turkey Day. We went to sleep with it working, wife turned it down a bit and placed it on Auto expecting it to come on and off but that did not happen. Woke up Turkey Day with a chillin 38 degrees outside and what felt like 35 inside the Toyhauler. Turned it off and on several times but the fan would blow for about 30 Seconds then shut off it never lit up or turned on. Thank god for the Electric Fireplace I just installed it saved the day. Its going in the shop on Thursday..... 2006 Raptor 3612DS Thanks for this Thread at least I have a general idea oh what could be wrong. Happy Camping.

My heater did the exact same thing as everyone is describing. I opened the other bottle of propane and things were fine.

Both bottles were on and full.
