Has anyone ever had any luck with tire company covering damage to vechile from defective tire? My situation is 2001 2500HD, bought new on 11-11-2001. On 11-21-2007, with 31,700 miles on truck, the right rear tire threw tread, $900 damage to truck. I took the remaining three tires off, but keep them and the defective tire with its thrown tread for inspection.
Tire warranty info pamphlet says 6 year pro-rated adjustment. That puts me 10 days past limit.
thanks,
Wayne
Unfortunately you're probably out of luck. After 6 years the chances of the tire being defective are pretty remote I would think. It would be NICE if they'd extend their warranty but unlikely.
You could check to see if that particular tire had a recall for tread loss. If that was the case you should have been notified by Firestone or the Dealer you bought the tires from.
