I don't think I'd want to sit on a public toilet seat anyway. We always use our toilet in the RV even if we OCCASIONALLY shower in campground facilities.

I was on a train in China that had a hole in the floor for the bathroom. It may be considered somewhat fancy because it did have a sink with running water.
But for a fancy resort

As a kid visiting Europe for the first time I thought it was hilarious that our hotel had funny looking toilets, (and what the heck was that bidet thingy), until we stayed at nice hotels that only had a communal bathroom!
Anyhow, here is a description, and here are instructions!
I still want to know how they use the Three Shells in that futuristic movie, Demolition Man?

I found it!!

It's a Kohler commercial toilet. Probably easy to keep clean - but not very "user friendly"

Those are very common in state highway rest stops, less vandalism.
As for squattor toilets I love this negative:

I guess I'm in the minority here but I like the idea of it. Easier to keep clean and sanitized. No cracks or crevices to collect gunk and bacteria. As for no seat to lift I think it's a great idea.
