The TV nay sayers crack me up. They eat kitchen prepared food, sleep in a comfortable bed and take showers with no guilt. Some how TV is over the edge.

For us TV is a case by case basis. We normally boondock in the Colorado mountains and are only in the trailer for sleeping and some eating. Rest of the time we are on the ATV's. 99.9% of the time there is no TV on those trips. With that said I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old. Colorado weather is very unpredictable. If it goes bad and we are stuck in the trailer for several hours a DVD of cartoons or a childrens movie is just pure self-preservation. When we take long trips to see family or friends it is nice to watch the news or a movie after a long day of driving.

I live in the Southwest. I have some pictures at home that will make you wish you had a TV on the weather channel.

Ditto on the TV naysayers.

What about the hot shower, flush toilet, soft mattress, and cold refrigerator. Did you rip them out?

First time I went camping, it was a quilt on a tarp on the bare ground! I was only 11 or 12 years old. I have grown much smarter in the last 46 years.

In a campground, it is easy to spot the other campers that do not have a television. It must be their kids that are running through your campsite.

Yeah and even have the nerve to tell us to "stay home"...

Last time I checked I think it was called...hypocrite.

Usually watch the tonight show in bed. Sometimes watch the news and or weather twice in one day. If the weather is bad I might watch more. I don't see a problem.

I have no problem if you like to watch TV. I just have no time for it. Rock climbing/ hiking all day, and beers by the fire till bed. I did see a TC once at Red Rocks where the couple spend an entire 2 days sitting in the TC watching TV. why not just stay in the driveway and pretend you are camping? Its nice to have everything that comes in a TC, but its only for sleeping and cooking when the weather goes bad. I'm also much younger than most of you old timers!! Maybe when i'm old i'll go camping and watch TV and be happy. Who knows.

I would not go out without it.With the automatic kvh dish, I just turn it on and I have my sat tv. Mine has a pvr so I catch the shows or movies or sports I missed. Unless the weather is bad I only watch at night or early am. I don't sleep much, so it helps pass the time and I love my sports.I am pretty well trained on where to park to get reception. I generally travel alone so I do not have other external inputs.
