Has anyone tried to make the battery compartment bigger on the Lance 1131?
I would like to put two T-145's But they are 11 5/8ths tall. The Lance has 10 7/8ths Max with out the battery tray.
If anyone has tried I'd like to here how you did it?
Thanks

How about 2 T-105 or 125's? I have 2 Lifeline 6V's, but I had to take out the sliding tray. When you get the compartment enlarged post some pics.

Well I finally did it!!!
I modified my battery compartment so it will fit Two T-145's
First step was cutting out the bottom of the battery box.

There was a piece of 1x1 aluminum I cut it out and built a 5 inch wide X 24 inch long X 1/4 inch thick bracket to support any material that was removed. This was installed under the camper and I didn't take a pic when I Had that area open
After I cut it ,I cleaned up the edges and gave the open area a coat of paint.
Next I had to make a battery tray
I kept it simple!

Then it was time to install the tray.
I spray foamed the under side and siliconed, for a water tight seal

The new toys
These batteries are rated at 530 minutes at a 25 amp draw. With my heater ,water pump, TV/DVD and a couple of lights going, My camper only draws 13 amps. This means I will get well over the 530 minutes.
If I ever have to drain them that far!

Here is a pic with the pro fill installed.
This will make battery maintenance easier.

LIKE A GLOVE!!

Now I just have to design a battery tie down.
This has added about 34 lbs from the two 27 series batteries I had before.
Have fun

Looks good, can you tell me where you got the pro-fill battery accessory?
Thanks John

...wow! nice work.

Dave,
That was a great installation!
I happened to be in the local battery shop to get some rechargable batteries. There was the T145 that was visibly larger than the T105. I figured it must be better. What surprised me is that the T145 total AH rating was the same as T105. Well I didn't dwell on it too much until I saw your mods. Can you tell me why is the T145 better than the T105?
Larry.
I stand to be corrected. I checked the trojan website the AH rating is 15% higher than the T105.
