There is another option that doesn't involve removing the door glass. If you're a little bit crafty, there is a product called Gallery Glass available at most larger craft stores. It's kind of like a thick glass paint. There are design books available and you can place the design one of two ways. Either remove the door and lay it flat and do the design directly on the glass, or you can do the design in pieces on styrene "blanks", also sold at the craft store. When the design is dry, you simply peel it off and apply to clean glass much like a decal. I have done several pieces, including our house front door and most people won't be able to tell it apart from stained glass without close inspection. Because of the thickness of the product and the ability to mix colors, it really is attractive. You can buy pre-done design outlines and fill in the colors, or use their liquid "leading" and trace your own. Just another alternative if you don't want to replace the glass. As a warning, it does eventually dry very hard and you will have to remove it from the glass with warm water and a razor blade if you change your mind or decor.

I bought a window from a website called rvstainedglass.com and the quality of the window is absolutely beautiful and they have a large amount to choose from. They say that they can custom make a window with any stained glass pattern. The price range seemed to be from $200-$260 and that included shipping. Very nice site check it out..

I have to vote for the ArtScape (TM) material that I bought at Home Depot. It is a window film that easily attaches and can be later removed if desired. I removed the inside trim on mine and applied the film. Then I trimmed the film and replaced the trim. Looks better than anything I could have made using real glass, can be changed as my decor changes, and does not alter the original glass door material.

We went to Los Algadones, outside Yuma last winter. There are about 6 stained glass shops in the town. Mostly all the door windows are standard size(trailer and 5th wheels) the selection was fabulous. I bought one for 47.00US-after haggeling of course. Similar stained glass windows were over 200.00 at a vendor in Quartzsite. I kept the original frosted glass(its riding in one of the bureau drawers).I love the window, very colorful and I picked one with a solid 1/2 in. border in lavendar glass-I can see thru it to the outside..it was worth the trip to Mexico, they would even make you a window from a photo you brought(you would need to barter for the price.) I also have seen the stained glass entry windows from "Mexico" and the ones that I have seen are not very well put together. For one they are only soldered on side and not very smooth, and the glass is really thin. We were in a camp with a couple last year that had to replace theirs 2 times because her husband had leaned on it while it was installed. The one that I bought is done on both sides and the glass is much thicker, leaning against it is no problem. I hope that you have better luck with yours than they did
