How do you like them and do they work as advertised?

I would like to go a step farther with this question: is there a photo series, or video series, slideshow, powerpoint, etc that show how you are suppose to use these and their benefits?
Thanks.

Rick

... and here are a couple pictures.

You asked about its benefits.

  1. You can adjust the height in very small increments and achieve perfect leveling versus the thickness of wooden boards or Lynx blocks
  2. Leveling maybe faster because you don't have to lay out boards/blocks and back up or drive over them. However, if you are not using a drill and have to raise the tire up a significant height with the wrench you will lose the speed advantage
  3. It secures the tire and reduces PUP bounce.

Disadvantages:

  1. They are expensive compared to free scrap boards
  2. You have to keep the screw cleaned and greased
  3. They only work with single axle PUP's
  4. Earlier models had weak wields but this has been corrected.

I love my BAL leveler. Got mine after using boards in the past for leveling and set up a little out of order and the pup rolled off the boards and headed a few feet right towards my wife. It's as much of a safety issue as convenience.

Absolutely worth every penny. I back into a spot put the leveler on the low side and the Single wheel chock on the other, and it is done. No jacking, measuring for wood height. No backing on and off to find the correct height either. I put level bubbles in the wheel wells on both sides that are in view when I ratchet it up to position. It is so fast and easy. It is rock steady, they do not creep loose do to walking around the trailer in. They stow very easy, first thing out last thing in. In all my trips there was only one spot I could not use it, This was not in a camp ground it was on a desert trail, I moved the trailer about 5 feet and perfect. Absolutely worth every penny.

He Ruide-
Thanks for the link. I like the way you use the foam to cover the threaded rod.

I bought my bal from another member here. It is used, but when there is only one working part that was no problem. I've used the lynx blocks and wood scraps, but I really like the bal. Sure it takes a little effort, but you don't have to keep trying to adjust everything to get the unit level. I've camped on some very unlevel ground, but never had any problems with the bal. Now I need to get the single wheel chock.

Rick, You are welcome. The original idea for the insulation foam came from 'Oz and Us' I modified it by adding the clamp with the thumb screw.

Take care.
