BIG tank - I think it's a 1000 gallon tank.

My real question is - how could we possibly have used 475 gallons over the SUMMER?

There are only 2 pilots running during the summer...

KK,
Have you changed any behaviors? (I.E. longer showers, guests staying over, cooking more)? if not.

Look for leaks. I would start with the new A/C you had installed.

See if Ken can put a stick in the tank to find out the level. Unless you have another way to check it.

If Ken is going to use a stick to check a propane tank, please advise ahead of time so I can get a little farther away. That would get things cold as when it hits the air it is changed to a vapor and is at -bunches of degrees not to mention the boom it could make.

Hmmm, yeh, after reading your post I remembered, that's how you check heating oil. Yep, as Dan mentioned, this might not be a good idea.

KK, has anyone done any digging in your yard?

No, I haven't even moved any rocks around this summer

Honestly, we don't have any gas appliance except for the 3 furnaces (1 in each garage and 1 for the house) plus our little decorative gas heat stove in the basement. None of those have run since the weather got above 55 outside, so I think there has to be a leak or a thief...

Still no info on the Big Stacks festival - must be in 2010...

At my family reunion, someone said that there was some licensing problem with the steamboats and most would be permanently docked unless they were rebuilt??
I don't recall the details, but it was either wooden boats needed to be steel or something?

After a discussion we had with some others in the group I just wanted to take this opportunity to clear up a few things for this years Flamingo Auction that will be held at the OSU/PSU Rally.

1. One should remember that this auction was created to offset expenses for things such as signs, hangers, flamingos and the like.

2. The items you bid on can range in price from a couple dollars to who knows what. Please don't be disappointed if you paid too much for the item you received.

3. Now is the time to start thinking about purchasing your donations to the auction. (wouldn't hurt to look for the Christmas party items either) Look for things on sale/closeout. Items do not necessarily need to be camping related. When buying items for the auction, please be careful as to how much you're spending. Items from the store on our Ohio Rally web site are good choices too.

4. Please remember the reason for this auction. Most of all this is for the fun of it.

Thank you for all the support in years past and thanks to Manny and Leslie for creating the auction and Manny's continued work with the website.

Got home from an auto trip to Amelia Va two hours ago. Windy and no power here at home. On the way we stopped at DC to walk the Mall since one of the pax hadn't seen it before. Walked from Capital to Washington Monument to north side of White House then back to Capital. On the way home today we stopped at the United Flt 93 Memoral. Neither of the other men had seen it before.

Now it is time to go camping!
