Hi!
Our wishes is for it to stay the same rally. Everybody already exspects it then,it's our bigest rally in the fall. If we do it at Thanksgiving time and Christmas parties, maybe some one might want to host a rally at a state park in the spring when we need 6months ahead for rev. for a group rally. If we have it past next years game Nov.6th your looking at bad weather and a lot of people don't like to travel with their rigs late in the year, remember Christmas. Every
year most everybody can make it and the ones that can't make it can receive the new calendar and also who wants to host a rally give their request to Steve
before that rally. Remember not everybody can make all the rallies, if we don't split it up, this way most people will still be able to be there for two of the important things we do once a year. It's not like it takes all day to do these two things.Just our feelings on the subject.Jim & Dee

Todd - how was the Novi show? Were people buying or maybe more importantly, were banks financing?

Kathy - Novi show was poorly attended. There were a lot of class A's that were getting a lot of looks, many with tag axles, to my knowledge they were not selling. On the other hand National RV direct did fairly well. Those people who have applied for credit do not seem to be having a problem getting approved at a 6% APR.

I got to tow a Cyclone 3950 toy hauler - triple axle, 18,000 lbs., truck handled it pretty well at 70 mph.

Since we're on the subject of economics, I thought I'd share a bit of info. I called my friend who still works at the mortgage company where I used to work. She said while the guidelines keep changing on investment property & condos, the average home buyer is not experiencing any difference despite what the media would like you to believe! The sky is not falling quite yet! Your investments may be taking a beating but you can still buy a house with little to no money down, at a great rate, and with slightly imperfect credit!

The Flamingo Auction & planning was originally done at the "Fall Rally" since it was the last rally of the year. However, this year & last year the 2 rallies were combined due the game being in October both months. If you notice, the official title of the rally this year and last year is "Fall & OSU/PSU Rally" so we are essentially having the auction & planning at the Fall Rally still.

Mel-O, sounds like you are parroting what I heard yesterday near Washington DC while the news media was all gloom and doom. Half a dozen guys sitting in a pilot lounge with the news on TV made for some interesting conversation! I wanta go camping!

Any chance the "OSU/PSU Rally" and the "Planning Meeting/Flamingo Auction" could be separated next year? Not trying to cause trouble, just asking a question.

How about we do the planning meeting on Friday evening this year? I'm sure not everyone would be there but if you have a real preference you could let us know ahead of time.

I guess it’s TIME for my 2 ½ cents worth.

This year Carol and I will not be camping at the Evergreen PSU/OSU rally, we plan to stop in on Saturday, spending the day with friends, bring a high dollar gift to auction off while bidding on some equally high priced items and finally cheering on OSU to victory. We were hoping to host next year (2009), and a Friday meeting wouldn’t work for us to stake a claim on a weekend.

While I am an OSU fan, it’s actually the meeting and white elephant sale that the big draw for me. If in the future the PSU/OSU Rally returns to PA, we probably will not be attending (but then who knows). Please understand, I personally think tradition is a good thing, so if the PSU/OSU Rally crosses the state line every other year, that a good thing.

So as a personal preference, I’d like the meeting and flamingo auction on some other non-PSU/OSU weekend, not one that moves between states and gets farther to travel to in order to participate in the organizational meeting and auction.

Also… I definitely believe that the Ohio.Rally should stay true to the name. All sanctioned rally’s in Ohio. Of course anyone from any of the other 49 states are welcome to join us, but I think we should visit as many Ohio sites as possible. Remember the state song, “Beautiful Ohio” why not travel to see it all, and show it off to those who wish to join us. In 88 counties, we have a lot to choose from.

Hopefully no offense taken… none implied.

See you at Evergreen…. O-H…
